An AmazonBasics Portable Bluetooth Speaker - Review Won't Answer These 94 Questions - Part 1 of 2

★★★★★ An AmazonBasics Portable Bluetooth Speaker - review will not answer these 94 questions. Get the truth from people who own an AmazonBasics Portable Bluetooth Speaker -, including the fact that it won't...

QUESTION: I AM A TEACHER AND PLAY MUSIC IN CLASSROOMS. WILL THIS ADEQUATELY PUT OUT SOUND ALL AROUND THE CLASSROOM OR SHOULD I GO FOR THE LARGER MODEL? THANKS
• The small size off this unit will surprise you! This units gets LOUD and stays clear with no distorting. You and your students will be pleased
• It depends on the size of the room and how loud you need it. I can say this puts out great sound and generally is plenty loud for indoors. Taking it outdoors in a larger open space, it doesn't quite cut it. Without knowing the details above, I would say this will likely be loud enough, but for $20 more you can be sure and go with the larger model. I will say this is a great product and it sounds great!
• This speaker can get really loud. As for an auditorium classroom definitely get bigger.
• No, this will definitely not be loud enough for a classroom. I am a retired teacher. This is better suited for your bedroom, bathroom or kitchen.
• Will definitely be loud enough! Sounds great!
• how big is the room? is good for small area has great sound for a bigger room get the bigger one
• No. Especially not with people talking.... It's basically only good for when I am home alone or with my husband in a small 1 bdrm.
• It will work for a quiet class. When students are quietly working on an assignment. If you want it to play for a pizza party or to get the kids out of their seats and singing along you may want the bigger one. I take mine outside to the garden and it works well, again if I'm quietly working.
• Depends on the size of the room and ifnthe kids are being well behaved and quiet. I feel the bigger box would be better as whike this one does impress and has good loudness, it wouldn't be hard to overpower it.
• Go for the larger model. This is a good personal small space speaker.

QUESTION: I'VE BEEN CONSIDERING THE JAWBONE JAMBOX MINI REFURBISHED BECAUSE IT IS SIMILAR IN PRICE. HOW DOES THIS COMPARE TO THE JAMBOX MINI SOUND?
• In my opinion for $50, this is excellent sound quality and super easy to use. I've been using it at the pond for outside music and I have no complaints. You can always buy and return if you don't like it.
• It's a great speaker and great sound .

QUESTION: WHAT IF MY NEW WIRELESS SYSTEM DOES NOT TURN ON?
• The only suggestion I have is to make sure you have charged it. It makes a "boop boop boop boop" rising tone sound when it turns on, and a "beep boop" sound when you turn it off. If you are having problems connecting to your bluetooth device, there is a "synch" button that activates the bluetooth on the device. Mine works fine - no issues.
• Is it plugged in to charge. When I got mine it said it was charged ready to go but mine would not turn on after I plugged it in it worked
• All you have to do is turn on your Bluetooth and the speaker will pair with it. Very Easy
• The speaker has its own on-off switch that will power it up. In addition, Bluetooth needs to be enabled on the device sending music to the speaker, and you need to go through the pairing process specified in the speaker manual. If the speaker is on, Bluetooth enabled, and the devices are paired then everything should work.
• Turn the unit on and wait for the light to start to blink then hit the function button and wait for the light to start to blink again, then try to pair it with your bluetooth. I had the same problem. Basically you go through the steps of pairing and additional bluetooth. For some reason the pairing didn't work as described in the manual. Good luck!
• Make sure you've charged it up using the USB port. Plug it in until the charging light turns blue. If it still doesn't turn on after that I'd send it back.
• Charge it.

QUESTION: WILL THIS WORK WITH AN HP ALL IN ONE COMPUTER
• This should work with any device that has blue tooth and will play sound from it.
• I have an HP computer and it works with it. Just plug it into a USB port. I'm not sure about all in one because I only know of that terminology used with printers. But it works on my PC. I didn't try it as blue tooth, but, it should work with it as well.

QUESTION: I UNDERSTAND THAT IT COMES WITH A USB CHARGING CABLE, BUT WHAT DO YOU PLUG THE USB END INTO TO CHARGE IT?
• Any computer. Or into the wall charger base for your phone. Anything that accepts USB
• a wall usb plug, a computer, almost anything though i wouldn't charge it from a laptop.
• The charging cable must be plugged into a wall outlet. It charges quickly and holds a charge for hours.
• You can connect it to a PC , or even your iPhone charger or iPad charger. In reality any charger that has a USB port.
• You can use any USB wall charger. If you have an iphone/ipod/etc. you'll have one already. Most android phones have them too. If you don't have on though, they do sell them separately. Just search "USB wall charger" and you should come up with plenty of options.
• You can connect it to any computer with a USB port or you can use the wall plug from your iPhone or any other device that uses a USB charger.
• Lindsey, if you have an android phone, just use your phone charger. Otherwise plug it into a usb port on your computer.
• Lindsey, if you have an android phone, just use your phone charger. Otherwise plug it into a usb port on your computer.
• If you have to ask this you probably shouldn't be using a blue tooth device.

QUESTION: DOES IT HAVE A PAUSE PLAY BUTTON?
• Yes. The center button isn't labeled as "play/pause" with their typical icons, but I just tested it with my phone and the center button will pause and play music.
• No, it has buttons to skip forward and back, turn the volume up or down and a button to connect to the source I think but probably could be used as a pause button if needed.

QUESTION: IF THE SPEAKER IS NOT IN USE AND NO BLUETOOTH IS IN RANGE WILL THE SPEAKER AUTOMATICALLY TURN OFF OR WILL IT KILL THE BATTERY?
• It will turn off and save the battery.
• There is an on/off switch, so I believe you have to turn it off after use to preserve battery power.
• Hello Jay, This speaker will automatically shut off even though the switch is in the on position. If it loses the wifi connect and no sound is being projected it will also turn off automatically. The battery life on this machine is impressive and you can keep an eye on the battery life via the device you are operating. Took me about a month before my first charge with every other day usage. I use it for a good 20-25 min each time.
• Will turn off by itself free a while. No sure how long, maybe an hour or so. If no Bluetooth around, it will disconnect in 10-15 min.
• It goes off on its own. Cuz I admit I've forgotten to turn it off. The only thing I wish it had was an AC plug in. Cuz u need to use a USB cable to charge it. Other than that, I think you'll enjoy it.
• It does shut off on its own after a few minutes even though the switch is still in the on position. You press the middle button to turn it back on.
• It turns off

QUESTION: CAN I STREAM MY SPOTIFY MUSIC WITH IT?
• Yes, as long as your PC, tablet or phone has Bluetooth connectivity.
• Yes
• You can stream anything, YouTube, Pandora, Xbox music, Netflix, etc.
• I use Pandora. Normally you would stream it to your smart phone or tablet and then connect it via bluetooht to the speaker. You can not directly stream the music to the speaker.

QUESTION: HOW IS THE BASS?
• The bass is surprisingly good for such a little speaker. I mean it's not going to compete with a larger system that can produce the deep thumps but the speaker doesn't sound "tinny" to me. The lowest frequency is 150hz, which is not "deep" by any stretch. For a quick audio comparison, check this at 150hz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVu99mgBtok which is what this speaker puts out, vs this at 100hz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nw5QJdQNLKs which is what the slightly bigger Amazon speaker puts out. Hope this helps!
• It's average. If you're looking for an old case sound it's adequate. But mine only worked wireless for about two weeks then I had to buy a cable to connect it to my computer or it wouldn't work.
• I'd say it's pretty adequate for the system. I've seen speakers bigger with less, and smaller speaker with more. But I've had this for about a week, and so far I love it.
• Not real strong. You can tell it's presence. But if you have EQ on your player, you can enhance your sounds. But sometimes to get more bass you sacrifice overall volume. It is a small speaker and not a woofer.

QUESTION: CAN I PLUG MY I-POD INTO THIS SPEAKER?
• yes, there is an auxiliary input on the side of the speaker. However my experience has been that the volume controls do not function when using the auxiliary input. You must use the volume control on the auxiliary source.
• Yes it has an audio input for a standard 1/8 inch cable
• Yes, if you have the Aux cable
• Yes.

QUESTION: HI, IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE THIS SPEAKER AS AN ALARM CLOCK? ALL THE OTHER BT SPEAKERS I TRIED GO INTO STANDBY/TURNED ITSELF OFF BEFORE MORNING.
• It won't go into standby if it is PLAYING something, like music or a phone conversation, so theoretically you could leave your source playing white noise through it all night and then BANG THE ALARM at a preset time. But I'm not really sure what the advantage would be over just putting the alarm source, presumably your phone, near your head.
• No, this one turns itself off after a few minutes without use too.
• Unfortunately, this speaker goes into sleep mode relatively quickly (a couple minutes) if it isn't receiving any audio. I haven't explicitly tested the alarm clock feature but I can tell you than if my Pandora app crashes and stops playing, the speaker -- even though still connected via Bluetooth -- does drop into sleep mode. I doubt this would work as an alarm clock.
• Not that I know of
• Just search for AirAlarm app on the app store.. Resolves the timeout issue on other speakers (tested Bose Soundlink Mini).. If it doesn't work for this one just let me know ;)

QUESTION: IS THERE SUCH A THING AS A SPEAKER FOR TV'S IF SO, WHERE WOUILD I START LOOKING AND WHAT AM I LOOKING FOR?
• Search "Soundbar". It wouldn't be wireless, but it's a simple, reasonably inexpensive way to upgrade your TVs sound, without installing a full blown "sound system"
• Unit does work wirelessly with Dish tv network's DVR (the Hopper).

QUESTION: HOW'S THE OUTDOOR PERFORMANCE? COULD I USE IT WITH A PROJECTOR AND OUTDOOR SCREEN FOR SUMMER BACKYARD MOVIES?
• The outdoor performanse is quite right but I didn't use a projector.
• It depends on how many people would be listening and how spread out. Unless it's just a couple of people sitting close together, I think ambient noise in the out-of-doors would drown it out beyond a few yards. And remember it has to be only a few yards from the broadcast source.
• No, i would not recommend this speaker for that. It is only good for small spaces like a bathroom, as it has the similar performance of a hand held transistor radio. I would recommend Brookstones Big Blue Party for what you have described for price and performance.
• It's a good sounding by small form factor speaker. Sure it will work outside, but will be best for a small area, say about 10x10'.
• I don't know. I bought it to play music camping, but haven't taken it out yet. It is plenty loud inside. This weekend I will try connecting it to my laptop via blue tooth and test it and reply here again. (So far I really love it and it sounds great!)

QUESTION: CANT PAIR W IPAD
• It actually pairs with my iPad 2 & 3 just fine! I'm listening to it ask I write this!
• If you previously had it paired with your phone or other device, try disabling bluetooth on that device and reconnecting with your ipad. You can also try turning bluetooth on and off on your iPad. I experienced the same thing and that's how I resolved it.

QUESTION: HOW EASY IS THIS TO USE AND SET UP? I'M LOOKING TO BUY THIS FOR SOMEONE WHO IS NOT REALLY TECH SAAVY.
• Pretty easy. You just have to turn it on and then find Amazon BT1 in the Bluetooth choices on the device that you're streaming music from.
• Super easy! Pairs in a few seconds and usually airs automatically after its set up
• Bluetooth pairing is very easy. Simply slide the power switch to "on" while holding the speaker near the device to paired with the speaker and wait a seconds. That's it for setup.
• Very easy. Plug it in to give it some charge. There is a power switch on the speaker itself to turn on when you want to use it. Flip that on, hit the bluetooth button on top of the speaker, and then search for devices on your phone. Select the one with Amazon in the name and it is paired! The instructions that come with it may provide a more formal step by step process though.
• Easy to set up even for a "non-techy" person such as myself. I works great and the sound quality is good - not great - but for the money it performs well.

QUESTION: DOES THIS WORK ON AN IPOD 5TH GEN 32GB?
• I would think it would work with any Bluetooth enabled phone mine has work with a variety of phones
• My girlfriend has an iPhone 5 and it works with that. As far as I can tell, virtually any bluetooth device will work. You can also plug in a 3.5mm cord and use it that way as well. It also sounds great.
• Yes.

QUESTION: IS THIS SPEAKER COMPATIBLE WITH THE SONY WALKMAN
• Yes. As long as your walkman has a 2.5mm output since I assume it doesn't have Bluetooth.
• It connects via bluetooth or a 3.5 mm jack. However, both units I had would stay at maximum volume when I used the 3.5 mm jack to connect it to the audio source. If you are looking to connect by jack, go with the JBL flip 2. More expensive but, unlike the Amazon unit, it comes with a carrying case and charger. Also, the volume adjusts.
• Yes, using the 3.5 mm headphone jack, you can plug it directly into your Walkman just like headphones. But you'll need your own 3.5 male to male wire which are very easy to find and are cheap. Alternatively, you can turn your Walkman into a Bluetooth device by plugging in a Bluetooth sending unit into the same headphone jack. That way you have a little more freedom of movement. But for simplicity, try the wire first.
• It features an auxiliary Jack which can be used to plugin audio devices through the device headphones Jack. I tried this with my mp3 player and works fine

QUESTION: WHAT SPECIFICATION (WATTAGE AND CURRENT) IS REQUIRED FOR THE WALL CHARGER FOR THIS SPEAKER? I READ THAT ANY USB CHARGER SHOULD WORK. IS THAT TRUE?
• Yes, it does not come with one but i use my phone usb
• Any wall charger will work. I use the 2.1A off my Samsung GS5 and it charges slightly faster than a 1A charger, but either gets the job done.

QUESTION: HOW GOOD IS THE MICROPHONE ON THIS DEVICE? HAS ANYONE USED THIS AS A CONFERENCE CALL DEVICE AROUND A TABLE, FOR EXAMPLE?
• I've used it exactly that way and it was terrific. The microphone picked up everyone around a table set for eight.
• My wife is a baker and uses hers in the kitchen as a mic sometimes. I have called her before and it sounds good on my end.
• I got this device for my daughter to use in the car as a better speaker for her cell phone. Overall it is pretty good, 4/5, but the engine noise drowns out the microphone more than I would have liked. As an inexpensive conference call device it could work out ok.
• Hi Pk Shiu, would like to have a try to test our touch screen bluetooth speaker please? Bonpie WS-712 Touch Screen Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Super Bass Stereo Sound for iPhone, iPad, any Bluetooth Devices, Built-in Mic for Handsfree, Silver
• If you are not a picky customer, it works great.

QUESTION: WORKS BY CONNECTING A USB FLASH DRIVE WITH MUSIC
• No. There is no place to plug in a flash drive. Good question, I wish it did have this function.
• No, I purchased the Cirago Bluetooth 4.0 USB Mini Adapter to make the bluetooth speaker work.
• No..it's a bluetooth basic operation, with a microphone for your cellular phone conversations.

QUESTION: WHAT KIND OF LIGHTS ARE ON THIS UNIT AND HOW BRIGHT ARE THEY? I INTEND TO USE THIS IN A PHOTOGRAPHIC DARKROOM WHERE LIGHT IS A NO NO.
• A small green one. Easy to take over
• There is one small blue light on top, right in the center. It blinks when the speaker is connecting with a Bluetooth device. Once connected, it remains lit. It's very small and I don't think it would be an issue. How ever I don't know how much light is permitted in a darkroom
• There is a small red LED on top of the unit, in the middle, toward the front. It would be easy to cover it with a piece of tape if needed. It blinks blue then red when syncing the bluetooth.
• There is one small light in the center top of the unit, at the controls, that shines blue or red depending upon the connection status. A piece of electrical tape over the light fixes the problem.
• A small blue light and it is not very bright at all. Nothing a piece of tape couldn't fix, especially since it is just a light signifying the unit is on and paired.

QUESTION: HAVE BLUETOOTH BUT MY IPAD IT CAN'T FIND THIS SPEAKER. HELP!
• I turn on the ipad first, make sure you hold down the middle bluetooth button on apeaker. It took a couplle of times for me to figure it out. Remember that light needs to flash to be found Good Luck
• Thank you! I couldn't connect either until I held down the middle button!

QUESTION: HOW IS THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTED TO MY RECEIVER?
• Worth it! Sound is very nice, has a little bass, and the Bluetooth (connected with my iPhone) can allow me to move around in other rooms of the house with my phone and have no disturbance in sound quality.
• Are you trying to use it as a speaker connected to an amplified receiver?
• The process on the output device is the same as with pairing to any Bluetooth receiver. You turn on Bluetooth and scan for available devices. Once the portable speaker is identified, click on it and initiate the pairing. I don't believe that any code was required to complete the pairing, but if so it is indicated in the small instruction sheet. One tricky thing is that before pairing with a new output device (i.e. switching from an iPad to an iPhone) you should unpair with the first device.
• you can pair your device to the speakers, turn it on, scan for devices on your phone or tablet, BTV1 , blue led will stop blinking and you will be ready to play usic or any sound

QUESTION: IS THE BATTERY REPLACEABLE
• Nope
• It's not intended to be replaceable but you have a little bit of building sense you can pop the metal speaker covers and unscrew the speakers and gain access to the batteries. Simply put not its not replaceable.
• It is built in. To replace it would require that you send it back to the manufacturer.

QUESTION: WILL THIS WORK WITH A PORTABLE DVD PLAYER?
• If your DVD player has Bluetooth or an AUX cable output. If your player can use head phones then you should be fine. You just need to buy an Male to Male Aux cable.
• It will work if you have a 3.5mm male to male stereo cord like this... BlueRigger 3.5mm Male to Male Stereo Audio Cable (4 Feet) - Supports iPhone, iPod, iPad, Android and other Smartphones or if the DVD player is bluetooth compatible.
• If you have the right kind of cable, it will. You need a Y cable. One end will have a "male" 1/8 inch stereo plug, and the other will have 2 "male" RCA plugs. Here is the link to it. Belkin Audio Y Cable Splitter 1-Mini Plug, 2-RCA Plugs (6 feet) Hope this helps.
• Probably yes, why not?
• Only if it is Bluetooth equipped.

QUESTION: HOW CAN YOU TELL WHEN IT IS CHARGING?
• Red light on top of unit comes on.
• Red light blinks Light off it is charged Charges really fast
• Sounds like you got the answer. With that said I had one where the light would not come on that indicates charging. They promptly gave me a new one.
• The light on the top of the unit flashes.

QUESTION: HOW DOES SPEAKERS COMPARE TO A BOSE PORTABLE SPEAKER?
• I have both and Bose sound is better form me, but de Amazon speaker is very good too. Some people don't like Bose because the sound is very closed (low frequency). Look at the price and if you can listen before...with same device ....
• I have both. The Bose is much better but it is also a lot more money. The amazon speaker also has a microphone which the Bose does not have. The Bose has a better battery life, sound quality and is louder. The charging plug is better for the amazon speaker because it has a micro USB jack instead of a more unique Bose charger.
• Are you serious? This is an Amazon generic speaker. Bose is top of the line. How does a KIA compare to a BMW? You can expect that compared to a Bose, the sound quality of this speaker will be distorted and of lower quality. That said, see my review of this product, it is an excellent value if you need audio for a small room and you're not an audiophile.

QUESTION: HOW DOES THIS SOUND IN THE CAR (ON THE DASHBOARD?). SADLY MY 06 CAR DOESN'T HAVE AN AUX IN AND ITS MORE $$$=[
• I never used it in my car but I feel confident it we would sound great.I use it all around the house great sound for t the money !!!
• Sounds good anywhere!Use it at the beach & in the car! This is a great little speaker!

QUESTION: WHAT TO DO IF THE DEVICE WON'T PAIR?
• Holding down the center button on the top of the unit releases and pairs the unit. I have to do this when I am switching from say my phone to my tablet. It seems to remember what it was previously connected to and needs to be released before it can connect to another device.
• Have the device Bluetooth turned off and then on and click the speaker to force the pairing
• I don't know - did you make sure that the device is displayed in your list of paired devices? You might have to unpair another device.
• in your screen the answer will. you must to enter in your system preference and play enter to "soumd", "BTVI", "headseat whit bluetooth" and ... ok. I made this for my computer is apple macbook. thats all . I wish ok for yoy. after bought amazonbasics (very good) I bough bose soundlink mini... an other world... but amazonbasics portable bluetoot is very good too. nice day.

QUESTION: CAN I PLUG MY SANSA SANDISK VIEW MP3-PLAYER UP TO THIS DEVICE AND HEAR THE MUSIC?
• It has an aux cord if that's what your asking
• There is a standard headphone jack AUX port that you can connect a device to.
• If it can conect too Bluetooth
• Yes, as long as your player has. 1/8" mini headphone connector.
• D'ont know

QUESTION: IS IT STEREO? THE SPECIFICATIONS DON'T SPECIFICALLY STATE THAT IT'S STEREO SO I'M NOT SURE.
• Yes it is. And it has a bass module as well. Two speakers for highs in the front and a speaker for bass in the back. Its a nice little unit
• Nothing on the product page (aside from it having a 3.5mm stereo input jack) nor in the included paper user's manual indicate that it is a stereo device. It seems to be, though, in actuality. Clearly it's not a $12000 pair of Martin Logan electrostatic tower speakers so it's a little tough to tell sometimes even with the music that I would normally listen to on my home theater. I did download a "stereo test" app for my phone and it does appear that there is left and right channel separation.
• Does it also connect by cable to play music etc.?
• It isn't stereo. No equalizer or anything like that. I have it on the fireplace mantel and the speaker "fills the room".

QUESTION: DOES THE SPEAKER STILL BLINK RED WHEN FULLY CHARGED?
• No it will turn off.
• No the speaker light will be solid blue when fully charged unless you unplugged it if so it will blink red again when you plug it back in
• No it should not if it's fully charged.
• Mine does not.
• Once it's fully charged it will stop blinking.

QUESTION: THE SPEAKER IS CHARGED AND IS ON, BUT DOESN'T EMIT ANY SOUNDS. WHAT THERE COULD BE WHICH DAMAGED THE SPEAKER? I ONLY PAIRED IT WITH A LAPTOP.
• It sounds like the system is not paired with the speakers. Or the speaker itself has gone bad. you would have to use another device to try to pair with the speaker and see if it's defective or if there's an issue with the device that you using to pair with the speaker
• Make sure the volume on your laptop is turned up- I had the same problem when I first paired the speaker with my iPhone. Good luck 👍
• You will have to utilize basic troubleshooting to see if the speaker is defective or if the device that you are pairing to the speaker is defective. I would suggest pairing possibly with a cell phone, or with a tablet that is not currently being used and see if you are able to hear any sound. Make sure your cell or tablet is not on mute which causes this issue a lot of times.

QUESTION: CAN I KEEP IT ALWAYS ON EVEN WITHOUT A BLUETOOTH CONNECTION?
• Yes. You would have no source for audio unless you do a direct line input into the device.
• It shuts itself off after a certain amount of time that it is not connected to a bluetooth device
• No you dont. After 1 min aprox. without bluethoot It shutting down..

QUESTION: MY SPEAKER WON'T SEND OUT A BLUETOOTH SIGNAL. I'VE TRIED CONNECTING TO MULTIPLE CELLPHONES WITHOUT LUCK. IT WORKED GREAT BEFORE THIS WEEK! IDEAS?
• There are many things that can cause that to happen. Device could be easily defective. You did not push sync on the speaker. The battery is dead. For the transmitter it could be defective. You never turned on the sync. Try using another cell or tablet to see if that is the cause. That's troubleshooting 101 for any device that doesn't work.
• I had this problem. The solution seems to be that all bluetooth devices but the one you want to connect should have bluetooth shut off. In my case even a tablet that was more than 30 feet away from the speakers was screwing up my cellphone bluetooth connection to the speakers. You have to shut off bluetooth in settings to make this work. Just putting the device in sleep mode doesn't do it. Hope this helps.

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU KEEP THE SPEAKER ON ALWAYS? I FIND I NEED TO TURN OFF/ON TO GET IT TO WORK.
• I've always paired the device after I turned on the speaker. Once it's paired, it has never shut off until I did it myself.
• I've had it running via bluetooth for 6 hours non stop. It didn't shut off until the battery went dead.

QUESTION: DOES THIS WORK GOOD WITH A KINDLE FIRE HDX?
• Yes, I got my connected to my HDX with no issues. Only thing I'm experiencing is that the HDX will occasionly hiccup, where the sound stops for a second and then starts again. I don't get this with my HTC EVO 4g or my Asus tablet, so I'm thinking its something within the HDX but not with the bluetooth speaker
• Sorry to say, I don't have a Kindle Fire HDX. Some day I'll have one :-) I would have to say that it should work. This is what is listed on the HDX web page "External volume controls, built-in dual microphone, built-in Bluetooth to support a variety of different wireless accessories such as keyboards or controllers, with support for A2DP compatible stereo headphones, headsets, and speakers". Hope that helps.
• kindle
• dont know for sure im using an ipad. if you have blue tooth capability you should be good to go !

QUESTION: DOES THIS SPEAKER WORK WELL AUDIO BOOKS?
• Yes it will if your equipment has Bluetooth or headphone jack. Pretty good sound either way.
• As long as you're able to connect to it via Bluetooth, I think it should be fine. I've only played music on it so far
• I am sure it wil - I am very happy with mine.

QUESTION: CAN THE KINDLE CHARGING CABLE BE USED ON THIS DEVICE?
• Yes it charges with a standard micro usb. Kindle, non Apple phones, all charge this.
• Yes, they use the same cable.
• The best thing to do with this or any bluetooth speaker is to use a small power bank. This way, you can take the speaker with you and play it all day long without running out of power. I use my Zoom Power Bank and it works AWESOME, plus it comes with the 3 in 1 cord which has the micro USB to charge this speaker. TODAY 70% OFF!!! bPowered UP ZOOM Portable Charger External Battery Power Bank TRUE-6000 mAh - DUAL USB - Works on all Cell Phones & Tablets - iPhone, Samsung, iPads - $20 Aluminum 3-in-1 Cord with Lightening Plug Included- (Blue)

QUESTION: HOW WOULD I SET UP MY IPHONE 5 TO THIS DEVICE TO PROJECT MY MORNING ALARM SOUND?
• Bluetooth, but not sure if speaker will automatically stay on all night long without an "active" connection. I gave this away as a gift
• You can't. After a minutes of no music the speaker turns off.

QUESTION: CAN I CONNECT TO TWO SPEAKERS AT ONCE? FOR EXAMPLE, I'D LIKE TO HAVE ON INSIDE AND ONE OUTSIDE ON MY DECK.
• No you can not link 2 speakers and you can only have one device connected at the same time.
• No you can not connect two speakers at the same time. You also can not sync with an iPad. It is fine with a phone in a small area.
• Its okay the range is small if you go to far the music is distorted. It pairs easily and is perfect for small spaces. Wish it were louder. I love the Bose mini and its not close. Overall it will do if your on a budget.
• Its okay the range is small if you go to far the music is distorted. It pairs easily and is perfect for small spaces. Wish it were louder. I love the Bose mini and its not close. Overall it will do if your on a budget.I only have one

QUESTION: DOES THIS HAVE AN LED ON THE FRONT OF THE SPEAKER THAT BLINKS ALL THE TIME WHILE IT IS PLAYING
• No LED on front of speaker. A small dot on top of speaker blinks blue when syncing and red while charging.
• No. There is a tiny light on the topside that stays on (no blinking) while in use.

QUESTION: IF MUSIC ISN'T STREAMING, IT TURNS OFF AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. I ALWAYS HAVE IT PLUGGED IN AND CHARGING. CAN YOU CHANGE THAT SETTING?
• I have noticed interference with other bluetooth devices, including my cell phone. I've had to remove and pair again to remedy. I'm not sure where this is coming from but I know it's not the speaker. It's the device trying to pick up the receiver (the speaker). This doesn't happen all the time but sometimes and also, it will switch to my bedroom speaker if I'm using one in the kitchen. Perhaps at some point they will be able to fix this and create a solution. Anyone else have suggestions?
• I don't think so... it just goes into a sleep mode and then if you want to stream the music again, you just press the middle button on the top.

QUESTION: MY SPEAKER DOESN'T CHARGE ANYMORE. ANYONE HAVE THIS HAPPEN TO THEM?
• No, a lot of times it's a cheap cable. Have you tried a new USB cable? Is it touchy, or does it not charge entirely?
• Nope
• No. Sounds like a problem with the battery or charging unit. Try different charger?

QUESTION: DOES IT WORK WITH ANDROID PHONES?
• If the Android phone has Bluetooth built in then I think it should work. I don't have a Android phone so I can't say for sure. My guess is yes though. Hope this helps.
• It does work with Android phones. However I bought it to amplify my alarm it was not going to work. It shuts off after a few minutes and the alarm does not bring it out of "sleep" mode. Sounded great otherwise and was easy to set up.
• Mine connects just as easy to my HTC EVO 4g LTE. So yes.. It should connect to ANY device with Bluetooth.
• I don't own an android, but as long as you can connect to Bluetooth, I don't see why not.
• If your phone has blue tooth capability, it should work with this unit.
• Yes

QUESTION: CAN I LISTEN TO THE SPEAKER WITH THE USB CABLE? IT WOULD BE A COMPUTER SPEAKER AND THE COMPUTER DOES NOT HAVE BLUTOOTH.
• No but it does have the 3.5mm jack you can use with the headphone jack on your laptop. The sound quality is great for the money!
• No, there is not a USB port.

QUESTION: HOW MANY BLUETOOTH DEVICES CAN CONNECT TO (BE PAIRED TO) THIS SPEAKER AT THE SAME TIME?
• We use it with multiple devices with no problems. I'm not sure what the limit is but on Christmas day we had 3 separate phones and 2 iPads being used with it.
• You can only connect one device at a time.
• To get the speaker to play from your phone, tablet, etc, it can only be paired to one device at a time. If you want to switch devices you can easy do that. You can pair more than one speaker at a time for a stereo sound however to one device at a time.
• Maybe I didn't understand the question after I read another response: you can pair several devices to the speaker. I thought u meant how many can play at one time. oops, sorry!

QUESTION: HOW LONG IS THE BLUETOOTH RANGE? LIKE HOW FAR CAN I WALK AWAY?
• The book says thirty feet. But, seriously, the volume on the thing is so bad maybe 4ft, so why would you?
• The book says thirty feet. But, seriously, the volume on the thing is so bad maybe 4ft, so why would you?

QUESTION: DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE SPEAKER CONSTANTLY (10-12 TIMES PER DAY) SHUTTING DOWN? IT IS FULLY POWERED BUT SHUTS OFF CONSTANTLY AND THE LOUD BEEPING IS NOT GOOD IN AN OFFICE SETTING.
• Yes mine worked fine for one week and then it would not play from my computer anymore. I went and bought a cable and plug it into my computer that way and it works fine. It's the only way it works. It's a piece of junk
• Haven't had the problem but do not play it very long periods of time.
• No problems here works fine when I use it
• I am having this issue, no solution yet.
• I can't keep mine paired for more than a few seconds. If I can't find some solution for this in the next few minutes, I'm going to return it.

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU SYNCH WITH SAMSUNG PHONE
• Turn on bluetooth on your phone. Turn on speaker - should get a red flashing light Search for devices from your phone and you should see an Amazon BT listing Sync and go
• Sorry I don't know - i only have iPhone and iPad - apple products

QUESTION: IS IT COMPATIBLE WITH IPHONE 5? DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK WITH MINE.
• It should work with any device that has bluetooth. Once the device is turned on and your bluetooth is enabled, you may have to pair the device manually each time if you use your bluetooth with something else like your car or a Bluetooth hands free headset.
• It works with my iPhone 5s. No problem.
• Works with my iphone 5 just fine!
• Yes. I have used mine with an iPhone 5, 6, and 6+, and it works great. Yours may be faulty, because it supports the Bluetooth profile, which in theory should not differ between devices. Make sure 1) your iPhone 5 has bluetooth enabled, and 2) that you follow the directions for how to pair the two devices.

QUESTION: CAN YOU ATTACH THIS TO A TV BY USB TO IMPROVE TV SOUND
• no
• If you could get a wireless stereo amplifier system to read the wifi signal you might be able to pull that off but I highly doubt it.
• Unit can be connected wirelessly to Dish TV Network's DVR (the Hopper).

QUESTION: HOW MANY DEVICES CAN YOU PAIR (YOU CAN SAVE IN THE MEMORY OF THIS SPEAKER) AND USE IT ONE AT A TIME.
• Unfortunately it only works with one device that I know of because I've tried to pair it with another & even just switch it but it hasn't worked for me
• Well with my experience, it can only be used with one device at a time. I've managed to pair it with two smartphones and one tablet, and switch between them with no problem. As long the speaker is not connected to another device at the moment, it should connect fine to the desired device. The speaker also has a "listen mode" button, to be able to pair it with other devices. The instructions that come in the box have everything you need.

QUESTION: WILL THIS CONNECT TO A PS4 OVER BLUETOOTH? MY FRIEND HAS A UE BOOM THAT CONNECTS, BUT IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE PS4 FOR SOME REASON.
• Yes
• No
• I have no idea, but sure works well with my iPhone and my iPad.
• [Deleted by the author on Nov 25, 2014 5:32:00 AM PST]

QUESTION: HOW DO I TURN THIS OFF? IT SEEMS NO MATTER WHAT THE SETTING OF THE POWER SWITCH IT KEEPS RESTARTING IN PAIR MODE.
• If you're trying to turn off the speaker, the switch on the side should do the trick. If not, I'm not sure what you can do besides let the battery run down.
• It's designed to always start in pair mode, that can't be changed. Sometimes my phone pairs with it automatically, sometimes it doesn't. I think its always paired with it automatically if I turn the speaker on before I turn bluetooth on in my phone settings. To turn the speaker off you just flip the switch on the side. Additionally it will turn off on its own if it doesn't play anything for 5 (I think) minutes to save power.

QUESTION: IS IT COMPATIBLE WITH ANDROID PHONE?
• Yes, as long as the android device is bluetooth enabled.
• Yes it is. I use it almost every day at work. The Phone function works perfectly too!
• Yes it is. Works great.
• It should work with any Bluetooth audio source.

QUESTION: ONLY A 30 FOOT RADIUS FROM SOURCE?
• Depending on conditions, it can be more or less. I have done 40 feet. However some barriers can lessen range dramatically.
• Dean; NY The speaker is good depending on what you really want to use it for. The battery last enough hours and can be carry over for few more days before charging again; if you did not exhausted the battery playing long hours straight. The sound is good but not as strong in a party hall where there are lot of noise. Excellent for relaxing, low noise area, practicing ballroom steps with few numbers of students. Finally, make sure the Bluetooth devices are easily traceable by the speaker to avoid obstructive sound. All the best

QUESTION: WILL MY LAPTOP WORK WITH THIS?
• If it's Bluetooth
• It will if your laptop is equipped with bluetooth.
• Yes
• I'm not positive but it seems like it should. Anything computer that broadcasts a Bluetooth signal should be able to pair with the speaker.

QUESTION: CAN I LEAVE THE POWER PLUGGED IN SO I LEAVE IT ON, AND USE IT DIRECTLY FROM MY PHONE WITHOUT GOING UP TO IT EVERY TIME? OR DOES IT HAVE AN AUTO-OFF?
• This device has an auto off when no sound is being played through the speaker. So if you stop playing music for a bit it might turn off, but you just have to turn it back on or always play music..
• The manual says it depends on the device. Indicates it can, if you have Bluetooth 4 and above.
• It will stay on as long as there is a device connected to it. So the device needs to have power and not be allowed to sleep too.
• From what I've found, it definitely has an auto off. I don't know the length of time before it kicks in though.

QUESTION: DOES THIS PLAY IN STEREO IF YOU USE THE 3.5MM STEREO CABLE INSTEAD OF BLUETOOTH PAIRING?
• Yes
• I've tried using headphones connecting into the 3.5mm jack but it does not play into the headphones, I don't really know if that's what you wanted to know.

QUESTION: WANT TO USE FOR MUSIC IN CHURCH.....WILL IT SHUT OFF IF I PAUSE BETWEEN SONGS? MAKE BEEPING NOISES THAT MIGHT DISRUPT?
• Yes, it will not make any sound when there is no signal from the input device.
• It will not make sounds when paused but it is not loud enough for a church
• If you pause your phone it shouldn't make any beeping noises. If your phone moves away from the speaker (30 feet) it will sound the disconnect beeps. But if the phone stays close to the speaker and you leave the speaker on it shouldn't beep. Hopefully you'll be able to mic the speaker. I don't think it will be loud enough to fill a room full of people.
• If you turn off the speaker, it will make a noise

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU TURN THE VOLUME UP?
• On top there are 2 buttons one is a + and one is a -. The + turns up the volume the - turns down the volume
• Press plus + for louder, minus - for softer. Once set on the speaker, I can also control it from my iPhone.

QUESTION: ARE YOU ABLE TO CONTROL THE VOLUME OF THE SPEAKER THRU YOUR PHONE?
• Yes, you can. I suggest you put the speaker volume to maximum, before controlling it via your phone.
• Yes you can
• yes
• Yes. Once your phone, tablet, device, etc. is routing audio to the Bluetooth connection the volume controls on your device controls that volume level. In addition, the volume buttons on this device communicate the changes back to the phone, so your phone is what actually changes the volume and not the speaker itself. If you are connected via the 1/8" jack (not via Bluetooth) then the speaker volume and and phone volume both play a roll in controlling the overall volume.

QUESTION: CAN I USE THIS AS SPEAKERS WITH A KINDLE FIRE TABLET?
• Anything with bluetooth connectivity :-)
• Yes.
• I'm using with a Nexus 7 32GB 2013 and my cell Samsung Galaxy S4. Using for music and audio books, speakerphone option works very well also.

QUESTION: HOW MANY WATTS DOES THE SPEAK BLAST?
• It is only 6 watts. We use ours for bringing music to the pool or other portable places where wired speakers don't make sense. Sound is good for the size, price is much less than our comparable Jambox.
• I have no idea, but it has a very acceptable, to me, fidelity and it's loudest volume. I, however, don't need to have the volume anywhere near the maximum. I generally use it indoors, carrying it from room to room.
• I have no idea, but it has a very acceptable, to me, fidelity and it's loudest volume. I, however, don't need to have the volume anywhere near the maximum. I generally use it indoors, carrying it from room to room.

QUESTION: CAN IT BE USED AS A SPEAKERPHONE FOR SKYPE/IP-PHONE RUNNING ON A PC?
• It runs solely off a Bluetooth connection so I doubt it but if you're on an iPad then yes.
• I'd think as long as your computer knows to use it as a microphone and a speaker, yes

QUESTION: I CONNECT THIS SPEAKER TO MY DESKTOP ABOUT 2 FEET AWAY VIA BLUETOOTH. THE SPEAKER GOES TO STANDBY RANDOMLY AFTER 10 OR 15 MINUTES. HOW COME?
• My speaker works flawlessly. I use it most with my iPhone and iPod. The iPhone has the best range about 30 feet. Have you tried a different source for the Bluetooth signal? If you have and that corrects the problem then the problem is in the PC - if the problem persists then return the speaker for another one.
• I do know when there isn't anything coming through the speaker for a few minutes it does go into stand by mode. Other than that I do not know. Maybe try it with your phone and see if it's the speaker or the desktop.

QUESTION: DOES IT WORK WITH KINDLE
• Yup! it works with anything that is bluetooth capable
• It works with my kindle Fire. It should sync with anything that has a bluetooth.
• Yes, it does work with Kindle. That is how I use mine at work and at home.

QUESTION: CAN IT PLAY MUSIC COMING FROM AMAZON'S ECHO?
• I asked the question because there is next to nothing in information re the ECHO and I am not going to buy the speakers if I cannot be certain the ECHO IS Bluetooth enabled. So, your wild guess and "answer" is useless. Amazon has not a clue how to provide info and that includes on the product that they sell on their web site. It is just as absent as any concept of how to make a profit in retail selling. I wonder how long Amazon can survive with such sloppy management.
• I don't own an echo so i can not say with certainty but if the echo is bluetooth enabled than i would think it will work just fine.

QUESTION: I CONNECT IT WITH A 3.5MM CABLE, BUT THE VOLUME BUTTONS DON'T WORK. I AM WONDERING IF IT IS NORMAL?
• You're gonna need to use the volume controls on whatever you hooked up
• Mine worked fine with the cable. You may have a defective unit.

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU CHARGE THE BATTERY
• This unit comes with a micro USB to USB Charging cable. I use an adapter on the USB so I'm able to plug it into the wall, or you can use your computer. .
• USB cord and wall adapter same as a cell phone.
• simply plug the supplied cable into a computer USB port.
• It charges via the USB cable. I wouldn't buy this; I had a lot of problems with it randomly unpairing.
• plug the usb end into a wall socket plug and the other end into the speaker
• Comes with a USB cord you can charge through lighter accessory outlet or plug it into a cube at home.simple last 10-12 hours on charge, like it so much I bought a second one

QUESTION: SPEAKERPHONE
• ummm, that's not really a question. But yes it works pretty well in conjunction with my iPhone to do speakerphone stuff
• Yes, you need to link your Bluetooth enabled phone with the unit.
• yes.
• I haven't tried it yet

QUESTION: CAN IT BE MOUNTED?
• I see no way to securely mount (e.g. screw or bolt down) without drilling holes and very possibly damaging the unit. There are no exterior screws / screw holes to utilize. You could maybe build a cradle, such as a decorative board, with a pocket milled for the speaker to sit in, but if the use is a rough or bouncing environment I realize that would not work. The speaker works great for me, but I just have it siting beside me when I use it. Hope this helps.
• There are no mounting holes. You'd probably have to build a little shelf for it. It's a great little speaker.
• No
• No
• There is no hardware or holes for mounting.

QUESTION: DOES IT WORK THREW WALLS
• Yes it does. Being behind a wall may reduce the range a bit, but I noticed very little difference. I am very happy with this speaker.
• Yes, the sound travels well with the speaker. Good quality for the price.

QUESTION: IS THERE A WAY TO TURN THE BLUETOOTH CAPABILITY OFF WHILE THE DEVICE IS PLUGGED IN? DOES THIS HAPPEN AUTOMATICALLY?
• Bluetooth turns off automatically after your device isn't connected via Bluetooth for approximately 5 minutes. This happens when it's not in range or you pause the audio on your device. Push play on your device and touch the middle button and the device automatically connects. Also, you never have to turn the speaker off. It automatically sleeps when not in use. To reconnect just push the middle button to wake it up. Very cool feature.
• There is a switch to turn it on and off. So yes, you can turn it off while it is plugged in.

QUESTION: ROOKIE QUESTION: WHAT DO I NEED ON MY LAPTOP TO DRIVE THIS BLUETOOTH UNIT?
• Probably a bluetooth adapter. If not you can buy an aux cord for under $10 and just use it That way
• Just Bluetooth connectivity.
• A Bluetooth transmiter.

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE RANGE OF THIS SPEAKER?
• Wireless? The book says thirty feet. Sound wise? Like eighteen inches. Beyond that you can't hear it
• I have a two story house, and leave it upstairs in my master bath. I have been down stairs in my living room (Probably about 30-40 feet directly through multiple walls) and forgotten to disconnect and played something and heard it playing through the speaker. I consistently use it about 15 feet away and it works perfectly. The other answerer should probably return their item for a replacement.
• not near as good as our bose but worth the money. using blue tooth plan on 15ft. good luck

QUESTION: DOES THIS OR CAN IT CHARGE YOUR PHONE IF IT IS CONNECTED VIA AUX CABLE?
• The aux input is only to transfer sound from a source that does not have Bluetooth capability.
• No, nothing is going to charge your phone via a 3.5mm audio jack

QUESTION: WHY IS THE SPEAKER NOT PAIRING WITH MY MAC PRO COMPUTER THROUGH BLUETOOTH
• Depending upon which Mac Pro and/or OS, the speaker may be pairing with another device by default? I'd recommend walking through each step, and if you still can't connect, it may be an issue with the speaker. Can it connect to another device (i.e. phone)? Here is Apple's instructions for pairing in OS X (Mavericks, but should be identical for Yosemite) https://support.apple.com/kb/PH14217?locale=en_US
• I'm not sure because when I turned on my iPhone it picked it right up .liked the speaker so much I bought another

QUESTION: HOW LOUD IS IT?
• Loud enough
• It's loud enough - esp for its size
• This is a very high quality speaker. It's gets pretty loud. I use it when we have get togethers and it's well worth the money
• Loud enough to fill a big room.

QUESTION: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO FULLY CHARGE THE SPEAKER? MY SPEAKER CAME IN THE "ON" POSITION AND WAS TOTALLY DISCHARGED.
• 30 minutes at the most. Not long at all. The charges lasts quite awhile too.
• I don't remember how long it took, but mine was not in the ON position and it still needed to be charged. It does hold a charge quite well, once charged, but I do remember thinking the light was never going to stop blinking ;-)
• Is it typical for this to ship with the power in the "on" position? Mine came the same way and I'm charging it now.

QUESTION: DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS DROPPING THE CONNECTION??? MINE DOES THIS ABOUT EVERY HOUR AND IS DRIVING ME CRAZY.
• No, could it be your wi fi connection?
• I haven't had any problems with mine, may be a weak Wi-Fi signal.

• VERSION 4.0 using with Samsung Galaxy S4 and Google Nexus 7 (2nd Gen). Remember one at time unable to have a group sync.
• Docs say Bluetooth 4.0 supported right on the front page of the manual.

QUESTION: IS THERE A COVER FOR THE DEVICE?
• No
• No cover, but I don't think u need one. I took mine all over the southern hemisphere....Bora Bora, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand....beaches, mountains, in my back pack with no cover & it's fine
• Not sure what you mean, but I'll say that what you see, is what you get. There is a grid face over the speakers on both sides to keep large debris from reaching it, but it does not come with an extraneous cover.
• Nope, but the box and screen on front and back are quite sturdy, if that helps.

QUESTION: CAN YOU CONNECT TWO OF THESE TO AN IPHONE AT THE SAME TIME? FOR USE IN TWO NEIGHBORING ROOMS.
• Cannot see why you could not with Bluetooth enabled Iphone.
• The only way I can see that happening is with Bluetooth connection.

QUESTION: WHAT KIND OF BATTERY IS INSIDE?
• It has an internal, rechargeable battery. I'm unsure of the specific type, but I do know that it stays charged for a very long time.
• This is a guess: It appears to me to be a fast charging Lithium ion battery. I find that the unit recharges from my Amazon USB router very quickly. Sorry, but I've never actually times it but it's rapid. Also, the charge lasts for hours.
• There is no battery inside simple charge. Get the device you will love it using it as I send this message to you

QUESTION: IPOD CLASSIC COMPATIBILITY
• I don't think the iPod Classic has Bluetooth, so you would need to connect to this speaker with a 3.5mm cable (not included).
• please rephrase your incomplete sentence in the form of a question

QUESTION: HOW MANY WATTS OR WHAT IS THE SOUND LIKE ?
• The sound is good very happy with it.
• Not sure of the wattage. The sound is okay, at best. Not much bass or highes. Of course, the price makes it a good choice for a Bluetooth stand alone speaker. And I if you've got it on and your phone rings, the ring comes thru the speaker, but not after you answer the phone. It kicks the call back to the phone's speaker. I'm sure there may be a way around that tho. Hope this helps.
• I do not know wattage but the sound is great.
