An Amazon Fire TV Review Won't Answer These 76 Questions - Part 2 of 4

★★★★★ An Amazon Fire TV review will not answer these 76 questions. Get the truth from people who own an Amazon Fire TV , including the fact that it won't...

QUESTION: CAN I TURN OFF THE WIFI RADIO PERMANENTLY WITHOUT SHUTTING OFF THE REMOTE?
• The remote uses Bluetooth. Not WIFi. I don't actually see an option on mine to turn off the WiFi. But if you can the remote would still need to work since it is the only interface device and you would need it to turn the WiFi back on.
• Using ethernet for internet turns off the dual band WiFi. The peer to peer will stay on. Why is this a concern?
• Yes you can. The remote works by RF signals not wifi.
• Well, simply, yes. The remote will work with the Fire TV when the Fire TV is not connected to any WiFi. Hence, you can use the remote to navigate the menus and connect to WiFi when you want to. You'd be in a nit of a catch 22 if the remote only worked when connected to WiFi. So if you hard-wire the box instead of using its WiFi it'll work just fine with the remote.
• Thanks!
• I've thought about this with both devices as I keep the remote next to me as I sleep. As others have posted the WiFi may shut off when ethernet is used however afaik the bluetooth signal which is used to communicate with the remote is always on.
• Thanks for your response. Your question on why it is a concern is that we have worked to eliminated WiFi from our home, due to it being a health hazard. We don't want to purchase Amazon Fire TV unless we can operate it on ethernet only.

QUESTION: WILL THIS WORK IF YOU HAVE A HOTSPOT FOR INTERNET CONNECTION?
• wifi works fine! lan is the best! hotspot? how fast is the hot spot?
• I would love to give you an answer but I ordered Amazon Fire TV back on November 9 and still have notn recieved it.
• Yes, a 4G Hotspot is all I use. No issues.
• Media streaming uses a substantial amount of data. 1 to 5G/hr. One contributor to this forum got a bill from his provider for $700.00.

QUESTION: DOES THIS STORE TV SHOWS LIKE A DVR, DOES IT SHOW TV SCHEDULES?
• Pretty much all the content on the internet is already recorded so you simply select and watch. If you are looking for current network shows, Hulu has over 100 networks. With the voice remote, just ask for a show right on the main menu. All the shows are stored much like a DVR or TiVo but No tape, dvd, memory or extra equipment. Cost of Hulu is 8/mo or about 1/2 the price of a TiVo subscription. There is no need to know when the show is broadcast as it will be waiting for you when you want to watch.
• I love the fire tv because I can see anything that is playing in my kindle in the big screen tv from any website movies especially and it shows prime video. But I've just got the new kindle tv with the upgrade I haven't s en anyone use it like a dvr yet. I have to look into it. It's still a great device. Watch YouTube and movie sites on the Internet saving a lot of money.
• No and no.
• NO It's a streaming device
• no but you can add memory for apps and games
• does it rewind
• The device uses a WiFi connection to access programming from the Internet. No storage, so you need to have signal whenever you want to watch. Not sure if you can connect to live TV, but we have not found a schedule feature for shows. For live TV I just switch over to my cable.

QUESTION: DO WE NEED CABLE WITH THIS?
• You only need internet.
• No
• No just internet and subscriptions to the apps you use
• Not cable CHANNELS but you do need high speed internet.
• Cable is not necessary, there are free streaming apps available.
• not really. There are plenty of streaming services available at realistic rates. Take netflix for example. TV over the internet is what this is. Do you have a fast enough connection?

QUESTION: IS THIS USER-FRIENDLY ENOUGH FOR MY SENIOR PARENTS WHO HAVE A HARD TIME USING THEIR SMART TV? CAN YOU LOG INTO AND SEARCH NETFLIX USING VOICE REMOTE?
• The voice search only works for Amazon offerings (Movies, TV Shows, etc.). For these, the voice search works very well. Searching in Netflix is probably pretty much the same as on the smart TV, i.e., entering search terms with either the on-screen keyboard or a physical keyboard (if attached). Once set up, the login to Netflix is transparent. Per Netflix's site "*Voice Search for the Amazon Fire TV and Fire stick is not currently supported with the Netflix app."
• I'm in the over 60 crowd and don't use the smart functions of my TV either. The Fire TV is much easier to use. I used Netflix for many years (since it was a DVD company). The CEO promised well over a year ago that they would integrate voice search on the Fire TV. They have not, so I dropped Netflix. Hulu, Smithsonian, Showtime and many others work right from the main menu as does finding an app from the dizzying array of 4,000+. So you can say "YouTube" and the app pops up to select and download. Does not get any easier. Too bad Netflix makes it hard to use their app. Maybe they are trying to keep their DVD business alive.

QUESTION: I HAVE A BOSE - LIFESTYLE V25 HOME ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM. WILL FIRETV SOUND GOES TO THE TV OR THE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM?
• You can use any of the 4 HDMI inputs on the Bose or pass through the TV. I would use the Bose inputs. I'm not sure which flavor of Dolby your Bose is set up for. I would turn off Dolby on the Fire and allow the Lifestyle to process the audio.
• does the bose have an hdmi input? because the only output is for hdmi.

QUESTION: CAN I DOWNLOAD AND STORE MOVIES, TV, AND GAMES ON THE FIRE TV AND THEN TAKE IT UP TO A REMOTE CABIN LOCATION AND SHOW THE PROGRAMS ON TV THERE?
• Nope. The Fire TV requires internet and there is no memory to do that. You can download Prime movies on some of the Kindle tablets to watch later but not on the fire tv series.
• No. The Amazon fire does no recording of any kind; you have to be connected to the internet.
• I am assuming that your remote cabin has electricity available as it does not work on batteries. The new Fire TV should be able to do this as it has the capability of adding 128 meg SD card and also has usb support. The content you speak of would have to be recorded onto the SD card by some other device. I think in this case, you can get an inexpensive laptop computer today at a reasonable price with more storage and several usb ports, allowing up to terabytes of movie and TV storage, and most have HDMI output. As much as I really like our Fire TV, for the remote cabin, I think a laptop would be the better choice. Fire TV is excellent for streaming video and music, I have YouTube streaming new age music all day long at home. But I also have 3 home theaters with a very large movie collection and that is where I turn to for that task.

QUESTION: WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF THE FIRE TV OVER THE COMPUTER
• Nothing really, if you have a smart tv and it has Amazon etc on it.....it does mostly the same thing
• Connectability to TV with better resolution
• You can use your computer while watching tv
• The biggest advantage is you can watch on your Tv. I personally don't want to watch Tv on such a small screen. Not to mention we do like the apps and playing games on it also.

QUESTION: MY REMOTE STOPPED WORKING MOST OF THE TIME, CAN I GET A REPLACEMENT?
• My first Fire TV had the same issue. They replaced without question and has worked perfectly since.
• It could be a couple things, try new batteries, if using wifi could be bad signals or try new remote i need to know whether your using fire stick or fire tv box if fire tv box try a cat5 cable to your box
• You have to contact amazon directly.... but they have awesome customer service so I don't see a problem :). Sorry I could be more helpful.
• There is a new software download that corrects the flaky issues. Check to see if your software is 5.0.3.1 and the remote will update.
• Yes,mine died after only 5 min. I called Amazon and they put me in touch with an Amazon fire tv tech,he walked me through some steps to diagnose the problem and determined that the remote was indeed defective so they had me order another one at no charge....all is good now!
• I had the same problem. You can't get a replacement for the remote. They have to replace the whole thing. I had so many problems with getting my exchange that after spending the whole day talking to customer service I ended up asking for a supervisor. Once I talked to the supervisor it was a smooth transition.

QUESTION: WHY IS THE FIRE TV SHUTTING DOWN AFTER NO USE
• After 30 minutes or so of inactivity, the Fire TV goes into sleep mode. Touch any button on the remote to wake up.
• For the same reason the DISH Network, Pandora or SiriusXM shut down after periods of inactively. Companies don't want to pay royalties for delivering content that one is watching or listening to. Just push the button and the Fire TV box will wake up just like DISH, etc.

QUESTION: IS THERE A MONTHLY CHARGE WITH THIS
• Not for the Fire TV. If you subscribe to Optional Services, those can have fees. But you can get 100 networks and watch all you can for 8 bucks a month. So less than the cable services charges to rent a box to you.
• No there is not a monthly fee unless you buy the content from Amazon
• If you take Netflix or one of the other movie/ tv shows yes there is. If you're a prime member you get some movies and TVs shows free for being a member.
• Not for the FireTV unit itself but add on services cost money. Some are free and some are not Get a ROKU many more choices for content.
• The Amazon Fire is like the Roku in that you have to link your Netflix, Hulu ,Amazon Prime, accounts which you subscribe to separately in order to view content. There are a lot of apps that offer free content to view. If you have Directv or cable, you can link to Starz, HBO, etc. to watch on the Amazon Fire. If you have a 4K tv you probably have access to a lot of the same apps because of it's SMART capabilities.
• This unit is used to view Netflix, Amazon Prime or any of the online pay programs. If you have a TV with online capabilities you don't need this unit but there is no monthly charge for the Amazon Fire TV.

QUESTION: IF I JUST BOUGHT A SMART TV, DO I NEED FIRE TV?
• Unless you need access to the 4,000 apps available on the Fire TV, you don't.
• Not really. Fire tv turns your tv into a smart tv, but still a good investment if you want something portable that can travel with you and give you the same quality tv as home
• YES!
• Yes, fire TV makes your TV experience even smarter.
• You will not need need a fire tv if you have a smart tv.

QUESTION: MY REMOTE LOSES CONNECTIVITY AND I HAVE TO REMOVE THE BATTERIES ALL THE TIME. ANYONE ELSE AND WHATS THE FIX?
• I replaced the new batteries and solved the problem. Guess they were not so fresh.
• Not sure. Only had the Fire TV for a week and have had no problems so far.
• I removed the batteries and placed them back in. One time I just pushed against the back contact.I'm guessing that maybe ,with batteries removed....flick bottom contact points so that they retract and release...kinda like the standard spring most battery compartments usually have..to make them extend longer.to force positive end closer to top point. I tried different batteries than the Amazon issued ones...so far so good..just did that last night. Good luck!! T
• Don't have this issue, recommend contacting the manufacture to exchange your remote. Amazon has a great warranty program. I am sure they will honor their product.
• The remote did not communicate with tv so called customer support. After hour on hold was told that there are no replacements available until the end of October. So I am limbo and no idea when or if the issue will be resolved--they informed me the situation was "on hold"indefinitely

QUESTION: CAN YOU BROWSE INTERNET
• No browser on the Fire TV. Since no keyboard or mouse, would be a pain entering an http address anyway. You can use an android or Fire OS to mirror your browser, but not ideal on a TV. Much better viewing on a computer monitor IMHO.
• No, it's a streaming service, you need internet access to use it; so your question is redundant.
• Not that I was aware of. The Apple TV box is way better!
• YES

QUESTION: HOW TO OPEN REMOTE DOOR?
• Pried along the side of the remote with a thin screwdriver and then pushed up about 1/2 inch. It will open up. Needed to do that to get the batteries in.
• I got it started with a small flathead screwdriver between the gap and once there was a gap inserted a slightly larger flathead and turned it to push the door open.
• It is very difficult. I almost sent it back because of this. If it is the latest model then there is no tab on the back. So the way I finally got it to open was to put it in my hands like a sandwich, pressing down with the top hand applying forward pressure and the bottom hand going the opposite way. It was still very difficult. Good Luck.
• The back of the remote does not simply slide off like most remotes. It has 4 hooks that connect the back piece to the remote. You only have to push the back piece a little to loosen it and then lift the back piece off. Here's how:Flip the remote over so the bottom is up. Push down and up towards the microphone button while holding the front face of the remote in the other hand. Once it moves, use your fingernails and pull the back piece up and away from the remote.

QUESTION: CAN I GET CHANNELS TO WATCH NASCAR
• You can get Sling TV with ESPN.
• It was not there before I returned it for refund last month.
• Depends on what channel carries Nascar. You have to be more specific.
• Amazon fire TV is an Android based with a proper app you can watch many channels. Unfortunately, Amazon have removed Kodi/XBMC from the list of App, you can still sideload it, and load add-on which includes NASCAR.

QUESTION: DOES THE 2015 FIRE TV HAVE A FAN INSIDE? IF NOT, HOW DOES IT REGULATE ITS TEMPERATURE?
• No fan, same basic setup as last year. There is a heatsink inside glued to the CPU, which spreads across the inside of the top (the Amazon logo side) and dissipates the heat through the plastic cover. It's lightly warm to the touch and doesn't get hot or need a fan. I wouldn't stack things on top of it or it could overheat I assume, but even putting it in a cramped space is fine so long as there is an air gap on top of it to allow it to radiate the heat.
• A small "hum" can be heard when one is close to the unit. It is not of a concern, since you can hardly hear it. I am not 100% sure if this is a fan. What I can tell you is that the unit never felt hot when operating. It was always cold to the touch.
• what are you talking about............
• No Fan. Although, I think the wattage requirement is so low that he is not an issue. More importantly, the power supply is actual built into the power cord and is external to the unit so that will be the likely source of heat. I assume that will be outside your audio/video cabinet ... if that is in use.

QUESTION: DOES THIS PRODUCE 4K
• Yes it will run 4k. I have a 4k TV, but I have not seen any movies on Amazon prime that are in 4k. Netflix has a few shows as well as movies that work great in 4k with this box. It is a great little box that you will be happy with.
• It works alot better then fire tv stick picture seems better more reponsive the trick I said it works better fire tv fire stick hard wire it to internt instead of wifi

QUESTION: WHY DOES IT KEEP BUFFERING
• I have DSL and been streaming a long time. I have found that using the wired ethernet makes buffering rare. If you can run an ethernet (Cat.5) cord from your router to the Fire TV, it made a dramatic difference for me and I'm sure it will for you as well. In order to test, just pick up a cord the length you need and plug into the back of the router & Fire TV. It looks like a telephone cord and is just as easy to use. If that works and you hate cords, just get an ethernet over powerline adaptor/extender. It uses the wiring in your home and prices are around 30/pair and usually include the ethernet cords. Happy Streaming!
• Because your internet connection is too slow... That's the only thing which will cause it to "buffer"... it is waiting on your modem to send it the streaming data.
• It could be your Internet connection, connecting to 5GHz channel works best.
• When it comes to buffering that can actually deal with a network issue such as too many devices being used on your network to low data rates i hope this helps you
• How fast is your internet connection? Rich

QUESTION: I SEE MANY REPORTS THAT SLINGPLAYER WILL NOT WORK WITH THE NEW FIRE TV, AT LEAST NOT YET. ANYONE HAVE SUCCESS YET? I WILL NOT BUY UNTIL THEY FIX IT.
• Sling Media wrote the app and is responsible for update. The only difference is lollipop on the Fire OS. You can contact Sling Media for that info. Amazon only hosts the app on their server and lollipop has been out for some time.
• I have no idea what slingplayer is sorry

QUESTION: CAN YOU GET HALMARK CHANNEL.
• Not for free, but like most, if you pay for it...it should be available. I'd check on Hallmark's web site. Also, many Hallmark movies are available on Amazon and Netflix.
• the quick answer is not for free except for side loading. As a basic channel hallmark is not there however if you are a Comcast customer you can load the xfiniti2go app by side loading it and then you can watch the on demand content they publish. The app is built for tablets so using a keyboard and mouse will make it work better (I use the logitec k400r with the firetv. There may be other ways such as sideloading a web browser and going to the hallmark channel website if they stream. Additionally if you want to pay (who does) then hulu and other paid services which are on fire tv may have your answer.
• I have not tried it.
• The device doesn't have channels per se. It accesses movies and tv shows rather than network offerings. With Amazon Prime you can view HBO shows as well as shows from networks, but you don't watch networks live. Hope this helps.
• Yes, it also has Halmark Moives Prime

QUESTION: IS THERE A MONTHLY CHARGE
• There is no monthly charge for the Fire TV device. There is an annual fee for Amazon Prime which gives you access to Amazon Prime Instant Video content.
• It is $99/yr. This link explains more about Prime benefits. They are currently offering a free 30 day trial. Amazon Prime (One Year Membership)

QUESTION: CAN I USE THE 128GB MICROSD OR USB 2 FLASH DRIVE TO HOLD VIDEO CONTENT (E.G. MOVIES/TV SHOWS/ETC)? IF NO, WHAT IS SO MUCH SPACE FOR?
• You should be able to, if you download the app "ES file explorer" you can browse the SD card and play back from there
• I have not tried that yet. I am in the process of testing this and I will keep you posted.
• Kodi used to be called XBMC (X Box Media Center). It is free and comes in several versions, one for Android, which is the same as Fire TV. Hook up an external drive to your computer and you have a DVR. Each Tbyte will hold about 150 full-length HD movies. It can be arranged to record anything that shows up on your TV screen. Just go to kodi.com. Your antenna hooks to your TV.
• I have no idea. After 30 days, my Amazon fire stopped working completely
• I haven't tried that. I did get a 128 for sideloading Kodi, but I'm moving and haven't done that yet. With Kodi you should be able to record anything being streamed or over an antenna. My guess is that most people will use the SD and flash for loading up on apps and games.

QUESTION: CAN I BUY A CONTROLLER TO PLAY GAMES WITH IF I GET THIS?
• Yes. You can order a Fire TV with the game controller instead of the regular remote.
• Yes
• Yes you can.
• Yes. Look for android bluetooth controllers.
• Type "Fire TV Game Controller" into the search bar at the Amazon web site. It comes right up. Or buy the Fire TV with the game controller at the time you buy it. The option is available.

QUESTION: DO U HAVE TO PAY FOR THE PROGRAMS?
• Only if you want to. There are free shows and many get an All-you-can-watch service. There are well over 2,000 apps.
• There are plenty of free TV shows and movies on apps such as Crackle. If you are an Amazon Prime member, then you already get all the Prime movies, TV and programming included. You can rent movies on Vudu, M-Go, etc. Or you can pay monthly fees for streaming services, such as $8 per month for Netflix.
• There are many free programs included in Amazon prime plus other subscription services such as Netflix and HBO GO. It pays to shop around some movies require payment yet are free on Netflix or HBO but you pay a monthly fee for these.
• If you're a Prime member most, if not all, the Amazon original programs are free. Movies - there's a huge catalog of free content for Prime Members - otherwise you pay. Prime is the way to go.
• some if you have prime witch you should have witch this fire tv.. al lot of free movie and t. v. series . all so net. flex but in gen. a lot off free movies. and free entertainment.

QUESTION: CAN I SEE OTHER TV SHOWS FROM WEBSITES THAT ARE NOT IN THE APPS NOR IN USA. SUCH AS TELEVISION ESPAÑOLA?
• Not to my knowledge. But they are constantly expanding the library of apps so if television Espanola develops an app Amazon may soon pick it up. However, it doesn't work like a computer where you can just go to a website and watch shows on the internet. I hope this is helpful for you
• Nope. Apps only.

QUESTION: THEY SHOW ACCESSORY FOR THIS AND ONE ITEMS IS THE AMAZON HDTV ANTENNA. WILL ANTENNA PLUG-IN DIRECTLY INTO THE FIRE, IF NOT WHY DISPLAY AS ACCESSORY?
• This is only for streaming, they are recommending the antenna because many people buying this are doing it to cut the cord, therefore you might want an antenna to watch your local channels.
• No, there is not a direct plugin. But, because there is an app, for the Fire TV, that allows you to record live broadcast TV. It's called "hype". Unless you were born today, I'm sure that this isn't the first "misleading" advertisement that you have seen. ;) Hope this helps.
• All HDTV sets built since 2007 are required by law to have a digital tuner. So you connect a digital antenna to the coax on the back of your TV. You would use the antenna to provide free local broadcasts in HD. The Supreme Court ruled against local stations on the internet except for in house productions like news. So that is how you cut the cord by using an antenna and the stick for movies and Hulu for the 100 networks they deliver.

QUESTION: IF I HAVE ECHO, WILL IT INTERFERE WITH FIRE TV? IS THERE A MONTHLY FEE FOR THE FIRE TV?
• NO monthly fee. I do now own an echo, so I cannot answer your question with 100% confidence, but I do not believe they will interfere with one another......
• I have an Echo and both a Fire TV 1st and 2nd gen. None interfere with each other and work seamlessly. Be sure to get the Amazon announced Black Friday deal.

QUESTION: DO I CONNECT TO FIRE TV BOX TO ETHERNET PLUG ON THE ROUTER? IF SO THEN DO I NEED HDMI PORT ON MY TV? I ALREADY HAVE WII AND XBOX SET UP.
• I used an HDMI cable to connect Fire tv to my tv, no need to mess with the router. I don't have Wii or Xbox.
• You can use wifi instead of a wired Ethernet cable, if you prefer. However, you do need to use the HDMI cable to connect to your tv (or A/V receiver for people who have those). If you've run out of HDMI inputs on your tv, you could consider getting a splitter like this one. Panlong 3 Port HDMI Switch 3x1 Auto Switch with 3FT Pigtail Cable Supports 3D, 1080P, HD Audio
• If your computer is close by I would use my ethernet. The computer in my home is at back of the house so I went wireless with a router. The only thing with a router it will buffer some times and slow your movie down. The fire tv box is one of my best buys on Amazon.
• You need a HDMI port on your TV. Connect to your router by Ethernet cable or wireless.

QUESTION: WILL THIS WORK OUTSIDE USA?
• Yes the Fire TV and stick work in other countries. Here are the details on use overseas..... https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201624360
• Good question. Honestly I was wondering the same thing. I really don't see why not as long as there is wifi in a specific area.

QUESTION: WHY DO YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR TV SHOWS
• Because that is the way things work right now. There is a rumor that things may change before the end of the year if you are a Prime member.
• I have a HD antenna for local tv and subscribe to sling tv and Netflix. I am an Amazon prime member many shows and movies are free. Some shows are $2.50 for a season
• Some you do, some you don't. depends on what app you using. I love Hulu 7.99a month. HBONOW is 14.99 a month, and Showtime is 10.99 a month. Those three would be the only ones I pay for. Amazon Prime customers get Amazon Prime movies and shows at no extra cost. I like the overall quality of this device. Its snappy, fast, works really well. I pre-paid 3 months to Sling TV 19.00 a month (forgot to mention that one), and they gave me a $50.00 discount toward the Fire TV. So my cost for the Fire TV was $53.00. So we're not talking about a lot of money here. I use an Ethernet (wired) connection to my Fire TV, but until I did, its WiFi built in was amazing too.

QUESTION: DOES IT PLAY SLING TV WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM? MY ROKU 4 OFTEN FROZE WHEN IT PLAYED SLING TV.
• I did not have any issues with Sling TV. But if your Roku 4 is buffering, it's most likely your internet connection. Both devices are quad core and stream at pretty much the same rate. I use ethernet to eliminate any WiFi issues on both my Roku 4 and 2nd Gen AFT.
• I don't use sling tv? So I can't really answer.

QUESTION: I HAVE INTERNET @ 35 KBPS AND AM USING THE FIRE STICK WITLL THE AMAZON FIRE GIVE ME BETTER STREAMING THROUGH THE ETHERNET CONNECTION VS WIFI W/ STICK
• A direct connection will always give you a faster link. However, I have Fios 100/100 with wifi setup and its seamless. My brother has 75/75 in his abode and more people using the wifi and his is fine as well. You may want to up your speed in general.
• I am assuming you are talking about the new Fire TV (2nd generation box) vs. the Fire TV stick. Yes, you will get better streaming with the Fire TV (wireless or Ethernet) than you will with the Fire stick. The Fire TV has more storage capacity for buffering. I have about the same speed internet and have no issues on wireless.
• 35kbs will not allow streaming. Your must have meant 35mbs, which will be more than enough to stream weather wifi or ethernet.however ethernet is always better because wifi signal can sometimes break due to interruption.
• I hope you meant 35Mbps broadband. Either will stream at 5Mbps but I prefer to use ethernet for my streaming.

QUESTION: WILL IT ALLOW ME TO WATCH GREEK TELEVISION PROGRAMS OR OTHER EUROPEAN TELEVISION SHOWS?
• Not sure. But they have some European shows on Amazon prime.
• If you have VPN or DNS yes. I do that from Kodi. You can install it on Fire TV.
• You can install Kodi and watch Greek TV or other European TV. I have seen several European Channels on my Kodi, including UK, Sweden, Scandinivian, Italian and others.

QUESTION: HOW MANY FREE TV PROGRAM IN IT AND MAY I HAVE THESE PROGRAMS FOR DETAIL?
• Every single one of the 4,000 apps has a detailed listing under the Shop by Department. Also there are 3 to 4 added every day, so click on the new ones in the last 30 days for the most up to date.
• Most apps are by subscription such as Amazon Prime and Netflix. I think Hulu, PBS and Crackle offer some free content.
• Only the chanels that your package of your cable campany provide you.
• not many, as far as i can tell unless you unhinge the box its basicly a smart tv box (amazon prime stream, vevo, plex) a lot of free audio stuff, but the visuals are a joke at best (the answer to your question is infinite if you program the box correctly, but stock not so many
• there is a good ammount and it changes periodically. i would say it has less then netflix but its still a good selection.
• I am new to it as you are. All I can tell ya is that as you know its mainly for advertising, there are some useful programs but you also know that anything free are not that great (:.

QUESTION: WILL THIS WORK WITH MY AT&T WIRELESS ROUTER. THE ROUTER IS LABELED SSID : 2WIRE855. I WANT TO CONNECT IT TO AN UNUSED HDMI INPUT ON MY A/V RECEIVER ,
• Most likely. The SSID will come up when you install the Fire TV and you enter the password. If this is a home router there should be no problem. If a cellular router, the cost of data could be very high.
• It works fine with my AT&T wireless router.

QUESTION: DO YOU NEED NEW TV WIRE OR DOES IT CONNECT YO MODEM?
• You need an HDMI cord. Get the length needed for your home theater. They are available from 18" to 50'. You can plug from Fire TV to your router if you would like or use either WiFi band. The choice is yours.
• HDMI cable connects it to your TV and then you can either connect to the network via WIFi or ethernet.
• The Fire TV connects to your TV set using HDMI cable. It connects to your internet using a wired ethernet cable or wirelessly. My preference has always been to connect to the internet using ethernet cable.
• The answer is yes to both of your questions. You'll need a short HDMI cable to connect your Fire TV to any of the HDMI ports on your TV set. Then, you need to connect the Fire TV to your modem wirelessly or using an ethernet cable. I use a wired ethernet cable and have been very happy with the results.
• It connects to the internet with Ethernet or WiFi and the TV with an HDMI cable
• Hi Betty, connect your fire tv to your router and to your tv and your good to go.

QUESTION: CAN I USE IT IN OTHER COUNTRIES?
• I have used it in the listed countries. As long as you have a wifi connection that allows streaming it's fine
• Yes. Amazon has been adding countries every 90 days or so. Here are the ones it works in so far.... https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201624360

QUESTION: I JUST VERIFIED THAT I HAVE THE UPDATED VERSION OF THE SOFTWARE 5.0.2.2, BUT I STILL HAVE ISSUES WITH VOLUME. IS THAT REALLY THE LATEST VERSION?
• Yes. At this time the most recent update is what you have. You can read about it if you google aftvnews. The mentioned site stays up to date daily on new updates and what they supposedly fix.
• Level of sound is not all that grate, must have tv on half of the med way to high
• i don't know any updated version..sorry to say but i returned mine already the first week..i verified to IT about the volume issues and they confirmed that it's the number one complain of everybody...that's all they gonna do...just update this and there...different issues for a lot of people..depending what's your set-up at home..some said runs fine with 1080p..i have a 4k tv..that was my main concern watching re-mastered 4k video on a down-graded audio...not good enough for me..so, i returned mine already...

QUESTION: DOES THIS BOX COME WITH HULU,NETFLIX, ETC OR YOU HAVE PAY FOR THOSE SUBSCRIPTIONS SEPARATELY?
• Both require a subscription.
• Hulu and Netflix are on there but you still need a monthly subscription to watch.
• Yes
• netflix is a separate subscription, assume hulu is also
• The apps are preloaded but you have to be a monthly subscriber for Netflix and HuLu
• You have to pay separately

QUESTION: I SEE THE BOX HAS A HDM1 PORT. DOES THAT CONNECT TO THE PORT ON MY TV WITH THE ADAPTER?
• You need an hdmi cable to connect your fireTV to the hdmi port of your TV
• The FIre TV connects to your Tv with an hdmi cable (which you have to buy separately). The Fire TV has no adapter so you provide your own hdmi cable. The smaller FIre Stick connects with an adapted that comes with it in the box.
• yes, you use that to connect to the tv.
• we had to buy a cable adaptor
• The adapter plugs into the HDMI port in your TV. The Fire Stick plugs into the adapter. Then plug the power cord into the Fire Stick. You are done. The adapter makes it easier to plug and unplug the Fire Stick so it can be moved. Then you can log into Prime, Hulu, Netflix and stream TV. Download the apps so you can stream the shows you want to watch.
• It connect directly to your tv, you don't need an adapter.
• Sorry I don't have the fire stick I have the small box and it is amazing, I take it with me when I travel it just plugs right into the hdmi port on any tv

QUESTION: DO YOU GET CHANNELS THAT SHOW LIVE NFL AND COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAMES? RECORDEDMOTORCYCLE RACES?(AMA, MOTOGP, MOTOCROSS??) SORT OF A DEAL BREAKER FOR ME.
• Nothing is live it's all past television programs, movies or events
• The only sports apps I use are ESPN and Fox Sports Go, both of which stream live, but require account from cable or satellite provider.
• live nfl and college football games

QUESTION: WHY NO EXTERNAL USB HARD DRIVE SUPPORT?
• Two reasons. First the Fire TV gets all it's input from the internet so it does not have (or need) a file browser. Also there are hundreds of file formats. Some are good and some legacy maybe not so much. The Fire TV limits it's formats to the content it provides in order to give you the speed you want. And most people have a TV or A/V for local source media which is better suited when no internet is required. The Plex app has been available since the beginning and does provide movie/TV/music content from your computer media server or NAS. And Plex will deliver to all your connected devices including the Fire TV. It will also transcode for those odd formats if needed. Info at plex.tv
• There isn't any USB hard drive support BUT you can insert a micro SD card into the unit. I bought a 64GB SD card and it works great. You may want to buy one of the SD cards made for the Fire TV.
• There is a USB port for you to hook up additional anything you need. It's up to you what you do with it

QUESTION: DOES THIS MODEL INCLUDE 1 YEAR OF PRIME LIKE THE OLD MODEL?
• No. There is a 30 day trial if you have never had Prime before. The one year Prime was for the Fire Phone not the TV.
• No. I had to purchase prime separately.
• no, I did not receive a Prime membership, but perhaps because I was an existing member.
• No it does not. I had to purchase mine. sorry
• Yes it does and I love it.

QUESTION: I WANT TO RESTRICT USAGE DURING THE DAY...AM I ABLE TO DO THIS OR PASSWORD PROTECT THE DEVICE WHEN LOGGING ON?
• http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201452530 You can also just simply sign out. All access will be removed till sign in.
• yes you can. look up parental control for Amazon fire. You can also change your password whenever you want and as many times as you want and won't be connected to your Amazon account password. Just remember to write down new password every time you change the password, you need the old one to do that. There is another way, but it is a PITA
• yes you can. look up parental control for Amazon fire. You can also change your password whenever you want and as many times as you want and won't be connected to your Amazon account password. QUESTION: CAN I STREAM VIDEO FROM MY PC TO AMAZON FIRE?
• The Fire TV can only mirror Android devices. You can use Plex to stream media from your computer. Or buy a Chromecast if you want to cast from a browser.
• Amazon Kindle Fire devices can stream to the Amazon Fire TV through screen mirroring setup - I am not aware of a reliable means to stream content from a Windows computer to the Amazon Fire TV.

QUESTION: I HAVE A PLAN WITH DISH NETWORK IF I CANCEL MY PLAN CAN I WATCH NORMAL ON THIS DEVICE?
• The Fire TV is not a satellite receiver. Most internet content is recorded. You would need a digital antenna for live local broadcasts. Dish owns Sling TV which does have live content and is 20/mo with no long term commitment or box fees. Hulu Plus has over 100 networks with current shows often available next day after national broadcast. Much like a TiVo but 1/2 the TiVo subscription price. 7.99 with commercials and 11.99 without. Showtime is also available for 8.99 if you want a movie channel.
• Normal TV? I have a HD antenna and get over 20 channels for free including ION, CW, Fox, CBS, ABC, Antenna TV, MeTV, NBC, Grit TV, Get TV Qubo, ION life, three shopping channels, and three PBS channels. The video quality is actually better than I was getting with direct TV due to less compression. You can also subscribe tot the Dish network Sling TV for $20/mo and no contract which has a lot of video on demand and over 20 channels.

QUESTION: WILL IT PLAY MOVIES FROM A USB FLASH DRIVE?
• Not directly. You need an app with a file explorer and codec that supports your movies. The file format the Fire TV will accept is FAT32. If you set up a media server you can stream to all your connected devices including the Fire TV. There is a free one at plex.tv and the Plex app will work with almost anything.
• I don't know , haven't tried that

QUESTION: THE PLEX APP IS SO, SO SLOW COMPARED TO THE PLEX ON THE FIRST GEN APPLE TV. CAN SOMEONE ENLIGHTEN ME?
• The Plex app is being upgraded to Fire OS 5. There have been issues that the first gen Fire OS 3 did not have nowadays. Only because all the bugs were worked out long ago. Same thing happened when the box was introduced April 2014 and takes time to fix everything. Plex announced the new upgrade on 5 Oct 2015 but can't roll it out till all the devices have OS 5 (lollypop).
• Don't know. I returned mine to Amazon. (I don't pay for products which are obviously still barely in a beta testing state.) Plus the 4k output requires HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0, even on non-copyrighted material, like YouTube app material. So their 4k box doesn't work on all the 4k TV's we bought from Amazon! That's just silly. So I'll be going to the new Roku which handles media as it is, instead of requiring most 4k TV users to buy another newer, more expensive 4k TV from Amazon again. Returned the box. Sorry, can't help this rock.

QUESTION: WILL THIS WORK OUTSIDE THE USA? I LEAVE IN EL SALVADOR CENTRAL AMERICA, WOULD THIS WORK IN MY COUNTRY?
• It all depends upon you internet provider, as amazon tv is internet base
• Amazon says these are the countries the Fire TV works in..... https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201624360

QUESTION: WILL THIS WORK WITH AN OLDER TV THAT DOESN'T HAVE A USB CONNECTION?
• You need an HDMI input on your TV. A USB is not required. Analog sets made in the last century are not supported.
• A USB connection isn't required. However, it does require an HDMI input on the TV. Otherwise, you can use an adapter to convert to the type of input your tv supports, such as this one for RCA/composite: Portta 100HC Mini HDMI to 3RCA Composite AV Converter for TV/PC/PS3/Blue-ray DVD1080P,White / Black Portta 100HC Mini HDMI to 3RCA Composite AV Converter for TV/PC/PS3/Blue-ray DVD1080P,White / Black - NotforWindows10
• This box doesn't need a USB connection not sure if you mean an HDMI connection, this box only comes with an HDMI port to connect to a tv. I suggest you search on google and see what an HDMI connection looks like vs a USB connect
• It will work if you have a hdmi outlet on your tv.

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE LARGEST MEMORY CARD THAT AMAZON FIRE TV USES & WHY DOES IT SAY ETHERNET BOX CHECKED OFF
• 128 Gig micro SD card. You can easily use wired ethernet if you prefer (like I do). The stick streamers can not use ethernet. They are WiFi only. The one exception is an adaptor is available ($15) for the Chromecast.
• 128gb you can hard wire it into your router or modem or use witeless

QUESTION: WHAT IS SLING TV?
• Sling tv is an online streaming of live tv...it works ok, there are times it drops...
• sling tv is one of the many services available with most streaming devices. It is a pay service with a fee of about $20/mo. Sling provides access to several ESPN channels and some others like A&E, TNT, History Channel, BloomburgTV and others. But the essential difference of Sling from other services is its ability to stream live events rather than wait a day. I am trying this out now and am still assessing the value.
• It is a good way to get rid of cable or satellite service if you have high speed internet. I simply click on the sling tv app. and i have live cable channels. The basic package is 20$ and then you can add 5$ packages such as movie channels or others. Beware the hbo channel, it is 15$ for only one channel.
• Sling Television All the info is on the web page.

QUESTION: DOES THIS HAVE DIGITAL MEDIA PLAYING CAPABILITIES FROM A USB?
• The Fire TV USB is set up for FAT32 and with an app can play media on the formats built in. You will need a file explorer in the app you select.
• I haven't played with the USB port much but I can tell you it only supports fat 32 and that kind of sucke it limits the size of the hard drive you can use
• I am not sure. Sorry.

QUESTION: AMAZON PRIME GETS ACCESS BUT WHAT DO YOU GET TO WATCH FOR FREE?
• There are 4,000 apps available for the Fire TV. Over 2,800 are free. Here is the sorted list..... http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_36_0?fst=as%3Aoff&rh=n%3A2350149011%2Cn%3A%212445993011%2Cn%3A10208590011%2Cp_n_feature_nineteen_browse-bin%3A11643278011%2Cp_36%3A2479560011&bbn=10208590011&ie=UTF8&qid=1447985713&rnid=2479559011
• With Prime, all the movies/TV that have the Prime banner on the top left side are included in your membership. With the voice remote, you can add Prime Only to limit the rental/purchase results. Like... Action movie Prime Only. You can also use your computer to fill up your watchlist and sync to your Fire TV to watch when you get a chance.

QUESTION: DOES IT SUPPORT DIRECTV APP FOR ANDROID? IF IT DOES, HOW IS THE QUALITY OF THE STREAMING?
• I looked up the apps on Amazon's app store and it is listed as not being compatible with the Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, or Fire TV 2.0. You could try to sideload the app, but I've not had a lot of luck with apps that were not designed for the TV.
• Yes for roku and apple TV not yet for Amazon fire TV.

QUESTION: IF MY DISH HDMI CABLE HAS TO BE IN PORT 1, HOW CAN I USE FIRE TV WITHOUT HAVING TO UNPLUG MY DISH CABLE EACH TIME TO PLUG MY FIRE TV IN HDMI 1?
• You could get a HDMI splitter which plugs into your HDMI 1 port and splits to be 2 hdmi's. You will have to move a switch, usually from A to B depending if your are using the dish or the fire TV. I don't know if it would work in this case but just a suggestion.
• If you have an HDMI output on the dish reciever it should theoretically work yea. But depends on how the dish reciever allows HDMI pass through. Or you can buy one of these from monoprice.com 5X1 Enhanced HDMI Switch w/ Built-In Equalizer & Remote PID: 8463. Apologies, cannot put links in here. But it will all you to have one HDMI hook up split into 5 with a remote included. I buy from these guys frequently and their quality is usually pretty good as they warranty for about a year on everything. And it is only about 30 bucks. Good luck!

QUESTION: CAN ANYONE POINT ME TO COMPATIBLE BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES THAT WORK WITH THE NEW FIRE TV?
• Any BT headphones with A2DP profile will be compatible. Here is the Amazon link..... http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201739960
• AE2W by Boss will do the trick. Little pricey but worth it.

QUESTION: HOW BIG AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE CAN BE USED ON THE 2015 UNIT?
• You can use a 128G memory stick. Format is FAT32. Here is the link.... http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201739940
• I would imagine as big USB as you are willing to pay for. It has a quad core processor with 2GB memory. It also has an SD card slot for up to 128GB storage.
• As big as you want to pay for. Note: the drive must be formatted as FAT32, you can only have 1 partition, and you either need a powered USB hub or an ac powered external drive because the fires USB port doesn't push enough juice to run anything but a flash drive. Also, get an ssd if you can afford it because spinning drives make it laggy. That said, for running KODI or Plex it still works really well.
• It uses a mini SD card, so the limit appears to be the capacity of the card

QUESTION: CAN THIS NEW VERSION SEARCH FOR TV SHOWS AND MOVIES ACROSS DIFFERENT APPS NOW INSTEAD OF JUST GIVING RESULTS FROM AMAZON?
• No..as far as know this a feature of the 2nd generation.. However i haven't used it in months so i am not 100% sure..hope this helps. Mike
• I have the original fire box and I once asked for some show (can't remember which) but it directed me to Hulu... so maybe

QUESTION: DOES THE 2ND GENERATION AMAZON FIRE TV HAVE ACTIVE PORTAL ACCESS THAT ALLOWS, FOR EXAMPLE, THE ABILITY TO LOGIN TO A HOTEL'S WIFI PAGE?
• Not sure I understand what active portal access means, but it scans available in-range networks and allows you to connect to them. Not sure why a hotel wifi hotspot would be any different... Ah, I see what you mean now... Thanks Rosey! :)
• Haven't tried it in a hotel but it logs into my wifi and setup is a snap.
• It should allow you to login to any active wifi I have used one of the two I got on other tv's and wifi networks but I have not used it at any hotels so if the network is slow you will have troubles like freezing or dropped connection. Ok thanks to Rosey it looks like you should have no problems logging in.

QUESTION: DOES IT WORK IN MEXICO?
• Not yet according to Amazon.... https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201624360 Amazon has been adding countries every 90 days or so and update this link as countries are added.
• LMAO. nooooo...
• [Deleted by the author on Nov 27, 2015 4:44:12 PM PST]

QUESTION: WILL THIS WORK WITH LOW BANDWITH?
• You need 5Mbps for HD. Any less than that will drop resolution and increase buffering. The Fire TV will stop streaming at 0.8Mbps (800Kbps).
• It will but it will buffer all the time. There are certain apps such as fxnow that don't work very well even hardwired into the internet. You just have to take a chance with it. I for one love the fire t.v. for all of the options it has.
• That would depend on what you use , Amazon Prime , Netflix or some other streaming site. Yes, it would work, but the picture may be lest then perfect and you may see some buffering. Just depends on how good your service it and what kind of service you have.. I have a 50M line cable, so its very good, most of the time. I hope this helps.. you may also do some research on GOOGLE, see what you can find with your setup and Fire.. This is a great piece of equipment, works very well for my setup..Good Luck

QUESTION: IS IT BACKWARD COMPATIBLE WITH AN HD TV? WILL BUY A 4K TV SOON.
• It only has and HDMI port
• Be sure the TV you buy is 4K compliant with Amazon and Netflix. Here is the link.... https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201859000
• Yes my TV is like 6 years old and it works fine

QUESTION: IS THERE AN OPERATOR MANUAL ON HOW TO USE THE FIRE STICK ?
• Yes plus an instructional video. It's super easy to use. It's incredibly useful if you have amazon prime.
• Here is the video on the stick for installation..... https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201636940
• We have the Fire TV box not the stick, however I would think the setup would be similar - Plug your Fire TV Stick into the HDMI extender, and then plug the HDMI extender into an available HDMI port on your TV. Turn on your TV and select the HDMI input channel for the port you used to connect your Fire TV Stick. connect to wi-fi - here are instructions from Amazon : https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201634480

QUESTION: CAN THE WIRELESS INTERNET FUNCTION BE DISABLED? ALSO, CAN BLUETOOTH BE TURNED OFF TOO?
• Plugging your internet into the ethernet port defeats the WiFi (both bands). Pretty sure Bluetooth will always be active.
• If you connect the FireTV via a wired Ethernet connection, I believe the wireless connection is ignored. You cannot turn off Bluetooth as the remote is connected this way.

QUESTION: I JUST TESTED THE SPEED OF MY DOWNLOADS 15+MBPS AND 1.28MBPS ON THE UPLOAD SIDE. IS THIS ADEQUATE SPEEDS FOR USE WITH THE AMAZON FIRE TV?
• Yes but don't expect 4K. This box does not have the capabilities of 4K despite what Amazon says. I get 4K on my Netflix app on the smart TV but not on this.
• Picture will not be sharp at this bandwidth
• Yes, that should be more than adequate given the way the fire tv works. I would recommend using your ethernet connection however, if you can, since that is much faster than wireless and no disruptions if others in your household are using it.
• My home speeds are similar and I am having no problems streaming music, movies or sports
• If your router can get that speed to the Fire TV by WiFi or wired, then yes.
• Yes, that should be adequate. Wireless WiFi connection speed fluctuates. If you can try wired Ethernet connection. Enjoy.

QUESTION: I DON'T SEE AN AUDIO PORT ON FIRE TV HOW DO CONNECT A SOUND BAR
• Connect it to your TV, FireTV sends audio to TV and you can connect soundbar same way you used to before.
• no way to connect directly (the last year fire tv model had this audio port). You could connect the soundbar to the TV audio port instead (if port is available, that is), and connect firetv to TV via HDMI.

QUESTION: MY REMOTE QUIT WORKING. PUT IN NEW BATTERIES AND IT STILL SOWS NOT WORK. THE HOME PAGE COMES UP BUT REMOTE WILL NO RESPOND TO SELECTING MOVIES ETC.
• Both batteries need to point + up, which is unusual as most remotes have one up, one down. The remote also needs to pair with the Fire TV after replacing batteries. Here is more info on the remote..... https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201452700
• Clean remote battery contacts thoroughly. Download fire tv app for your device and once you get the virtual remote working and synced, go into settings and select scan for remotes and re-attempt to sync your device to the remote. Good luck!
• Download the fire tv app to your tablet or smartphone and use it to go into settings and try to resync. The new remotes suck. Sorry

QUESTION: WHEN IS THE NEW FIRE TV EXPECTED TO BE FULLY OPERATIONAL AND RELIABLE? THANK YOU.
• sorry i don't know, i spoke to amazon support and they have no clue. So i return my fire tv, If i was you i will wait until they fix it before buying. good luck
• Today.
• Good question. Mine freezes up all the time. I unplug / replug 3 or 4 times a day. Trying to watch us is especially painful.

QUESTION: DO I HAVE TO PAY A MONTHLY SERVICE FEE TO RECEIVE THE 3000 CHANNELS ADVERTISED? IS THERE NICK JR OR DISNEY JR?
• You get access to the channels, apps and games. Not free access. There are over 4,000 apps on Amazon for the Fire TV. Last time I looked, a bit over 2,800 are free or need a provider with some a subscription. You can search for apps by clicking on Shop by Department on any Amazon page.
• I guess there are now 3,000 free ones. I sorted the link for you..... https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=lp_10208590011_nr_p_36_0?fst=as%3Aoff&rh=n%3A2350149011%2Cn%3A%212445993011%2Cn%3A10208590011%2Cp_36%3A2479560011&bbn=10208590011&ie=UTF8&qid=1449533870&rnid=2479559011

QUESTION: IS IT COMPATIBLE WITH TWC APP?
• Nope, but the Roku series is.
• As far as I know yes. I downloaded the history channel and it asked me who my provider was and twc was one of the choices. I do not have a provider so that's as much as I can tell you to help.
• No
• It is not compatible at this time but I do believe there is a software update coming soon that may remedy this.

QUESTION: WHAT IS A REMOTE GOING TO BE AVAILABLE SEPARATELY FOR THE NEW FIRE TV?
• It uses the same remote as the original Fire TV, so you can already purchase it separately. Voice remote for Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick
• Alone, the remote does nothing. The remote controls the Fire TV. Alexa can do most of what the remote can do just by holding the mic button and speaking to it, rather than fumbling through menus to find it. Alexa does much more if you have the Echo, and I was hoping to add this functionality without spending twice as much for the Echo and have an always-on mic in my home.
• I use the application on my iPhone primarily.
• There already is a new remote that comes with this.
• I think that would be a good question for Amazon. Good luck and good viewing.

QUESTION: DOES FIRE TV ELIMINATE THE NEED FOR CABLE TV ?
• It can. You need a digital antenna for free local broadcasts and a service like Hulu for the 100 networks that your cable service offers. But the choice is yours.
• It would if it had an antenna for your local stations. Thankfully, between Hulu, Netflix, and Sling TV, everything else is covered. We are really enjoying our Fire tv!

QUESTION: AS A PRIME COSTUMER CAN I HAVE MORE THAN ONE FIRE TV? AND CAN I STILL GET THE FIRST GEN. FIRE TV
• You can own as many Fire TVs as you need for your household. Amazon allows 2 Prime streams at the same time. You do need more bandwidth to run multiple streams. There are reconditioned Fire TVs available. Here is the link.... Certified Refurbished Amazon Fire TV
• Yes you can have multiple fire TV boxes
• Yes you can have multiple fire TV boxes
• You can have as many as you want from what I see. I don't know about getting the first generation fire TVs
• Yes, as long as you sign in it can be used on any amazon device capable.
• I have a fire tv and 4 tv stick in different rooms depends on whether you watching movie or playing games.the aiways using in some form.

QUESTION: WHY DOES THE FIRE TV CONSTANTLY FREEZE UP? THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE WHEN WATCHING HULU (ONLY WAY TO GET DECENT CONTENT). COMEDY CENTRAL SHOWS R WORST.
• Maybe internet problems, does it freeze up when using YouTube?
• Sometimes it is caused by an internet connectivity issue. Try updating your FireTV software in Settings -> About -> Check for System Update. Hope that helps!

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE AMAZON ASIN NUMBER FOR THIS PRODUCT?
• The ASIN is B00U3FPN4U

Lowest price as of today is on Amazon.com, click here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U3FPN4U/?tag=blog-amazonbasics-answers-20
