An AmazonBasics Large Portable Bluetooth Speaker Review Won't Answer These 26 Questions

★★★★★ An AmazonBasics Large Portable Bluetooth Speaker review will not answer these 26 questions. Get the truth from people who own an AmazonBasics Large Portable Bluetooth Speaker, including the fact that it won't...

QUESTION: I AM A TEACHER AND PLAY MUSIC IN MY CLASSROOM. WILL THIS ADEQUATELY PUT OUT SOUND ALL AROUND THE CLASSROOM? FOR THIS PURPOSE, WOULD THIS SUFFICE?
• In my opinion, no. The sound output is too weak.
• I would think this speaker has adequate sound amplification for an average classroom of relatively quiet children. However, if 25 kids got very noisy, I could imagine the sound, even on the highest level, might get drowned out a little.
• If the classroom was about 25 kids like Williams replied, I think this will be loud enough. It won't be too loud the class next door could hear. If you back it into a corner where the bass and sound can bounce off the wall, it will be even louder. I'm 95% sure this should be loud enough. You aren't trying to have a huge party with loud music
• I own this bluetooth speaker and yes it will do that. The sound is pretty good too. I use it to listen to music in the house or back yard while gardening.

QUESTION: WORKS WITH IPAD? APPLE?
• Works GREAT!!! :)
• It works with any Blue tooth device. So Yes.
• Yes, works with any bluetooth device. Also has an aux input for non bluetooth devices.
• Yes. I have used it with an iPad, iPhone, Android phone, Windows 8 tablet, and Windows 7 desktop. No issues with any Bluetooth device.
• If an Ipad has Bluetooth connectivity, it should work.
• Sure.

QUESTION: CAN THIS BE PAIRED TO A MICROPHONE?
• Hmm I'm not sure how to answer that. I don't think you can pair this with another Bluetooth device directly. You probably already know this: There's a microphone built in, so if you have this paired with your phone, you can use it to answer the phone and as a speakerphone. I can use it paired with my tablet too, for Skype calls. But I haven't tried using this for speaker only and a different Bluetooth device as a microphone.
• I really don't know either, but I suspect it isn't possible. I think (but don't know for sure) that when pairing two Bluetooth devices, at least one of them would have to have a user interface capable of asking for and receiving permission to pair. A computer, phone, tablet, etc. fits this description, but two devices with no more UI than a button to activate pairing mode really doesn't. Interesting question, though.

QUESTION: IS THERE A CARRYING CASE FOR THIS SPEAKER?
• Nope. Just comes as pictured.
• Not that I know of
• No, but there are carrying cases available for items of these sizes.
• Unfortunately no carrying case was included. I still highly recommend without it, awesome buy.
• No carrying case included.
• No it does not come with a case.

QUESTION: WHICH IS A BETTER SPEAKER: THE PORTABLE OR THE LARGE VERSION?
• In terms of speaker quality, they are similar. However the larger version has two internal 5 watt speakers vs two internal 3 watt speakers for the portable meaning the larger version is louder. They are both portable with rechargeable batteries but IMO the larger version is louder for the outdoors or for keeping on the desktop full time.
• I like the larger version for the sound quality and volume, but it just stays around the house or deck.
• The range on the larger speaker is better, since it goes down to 100Hz and the portable only goes down to 150Hz. However, in some way the large is misnamed Large. It is certainly larger than the portable, but it remains portable and compact and about 1/3 the size of a typical boom box. Sound is very good, but I do not have the smaller one to compare it to.

QUESTION: CAN I CONNECT MY TV TO THIS DEVICE?
• If your TV has a blue tooth out or a audio jack like would come out of a iPhone.
• I imagine you could, I do believe there is an auxiliary cord connection.
• Yes. 3.5mm stereo cable on the side. Switch allows you switch back and forth from BT input to audio input.

QUESTION: I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS WITH ONLY ME. I HAVE RANDOM POWER ISSUES WITH THIS SPEAKERS. EVEN AFTER FULL CHARGING, IT SHUTSOFF RANDOMLY.
• Sames!! I've noticed only happens with my android phone compared to my friends iPhone which it doesn't happen with. I think it thinks it's idle (lack of feedback from the phone??) So it shuts off
• I have not experienced that issue. My spkr has run as long as 8 hours on its battery with no issues.
• Haven't had that problem. Maybe it's your Bluetooth connection?
• I've had this portable speaker for several months now and never had any issues with it. Battery lasts, great Bluetooth connectivity, exceptional sound for a speaker this size. I take it along on outings, would by it again in a heart beat...
• I have had no problem with mine. I charge it at night and play it at work for 5 hours straight with no problems.

QUESTION: DO THE VOLUME BUTTONS WORK WHEN PLUGGED IN WITH A 3.5MM CABLE?
• Yep, changes the volume of the speaker. Obviously will not adjust the volume of the device plugged into the speaker. (Your question was unclear)
• NO. Use the volume control on the device you are plugging into it.
• yes, mine did

QUESTION: WILL THIS PAIR WITH A ROKU DEVICE? THANKS
• Interesting idea. I don't think so. I have both the speaker and a Roku. My computer and mobile device both see the Roku as well as the speaker, but I think you will find that neither the speaker nor the Roku have the necessary user interface to allow you tell it to connect with the other. For comparison: you can tell your computer to initiate a connection with the speaker because the computer has a user interface; I don't know of any way to tell the speaker to initiate the connection with the computer (or any other device).
• Assumption here as I don't have a roku: Yes. It showed on every Bluetooth device I had and paired with each one. Tablets, phones, TV and laptop.

QUESTION: I HAVE BROKEN MY CHARGING ADAPTER AND DO NOT KNOW HOW TO REPLACE IT.
• Any 12v power adapter, with the common 5.5mmx2.1mm coaxial power plug, will work fine. The original adapter was good for 1500ma, or 1.5 amps at 12v.
• I lost mine... Amazon, any suggestions?

QUESTION: CAN YOU PAIR TWO OF THEM AND GET TRUE STEREO SOUND?
• I have not tried that, but in my opinion you will get the exact same sound from both speakers as they are getting the the exact same signal from the source. You should however get louder playback because of 2 speakers vs one.
• I can't see how that would be possible. You can pair with more than one device, but I can't see a way to utilize more than one bluetooth device at the same time.
• I don't think you can link two different audio playback device via Bluetooth to the same source. I believe the only way you can connect two of this with the same sound is by using aux splitter, and wire-connecting two of it.

QUESTION: IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONNECT THIS DEVICE VIA AUDIO CABLE(S) TO A LAPTOP SPEAKER AND MICROPHONE JACKS FOR SKYPE AUDIO CONFERENCING ?
• Yes, You can plug a micro jack into it.
• rca jack for speaker only. Like the one that comes out of your iPhone. No Mic Jac

QUESTION: IS THE LARGE VERSION AS LOUD AS THE BIG JAMBOX?
• It's not quite as loud but close. It's a bit lacking on the bass end to. But for the money it's really not bad.
• No, unfortunately not. We own both. The Amazon Basics large version sounds great, but lacks the clarity-at-high-volume and bass response of the Big Jambox.
• No it is not nearly as loud.
• Yes, this one is very loud. I love mine that I got like 2 months ago. Very good quality of sound
• I bought the large. Loud enough for 18x28 room. My wife tells me to turn it down. That's all I can tell you. (The sound is much better than I expected.)

QUESTION: CAN YOU USE THE SPEAKER'S VOLUME CONTROLS WHEN THE INPUT IS THROUGH THE AUXILIARY 3.5MM PORT?
• Yes you can.

QUESTION: CAN TWO OF THESE BE USED AS A SET OF SPEAKERS FOR A PC / LAPTOP?
• In theory, yes. If your computer has two lines out or if only one you would need a splitter. You would plug into the aux line in on each speaker.
• I found that Walmart has some serious choices compared to Bose... dont wast anytime or money on these. I sent it back the for zero sound quality. If you never heard a Bose mini I understand you looking at these. But i learned speaker you need to here 1st. So go to Walmart.
• Jyst dont

QUESTION: CAN YOU LEAVE THIS SPEAKER PLUGGED IN TO THE WALL ALL THE TIME?
• Instructions don't say....But I do !!!!
• Yes you can!
• Yes
• Yes. You can leave this plugged in at all time.

QUESTION: DOES IT TIME OUT RELATIVELY QUICKLY AND IS THIS ADJUSTABLE? CAN I SET IT TO TIME OUT AFTER 10 MINUTES OR IS IT SET TO 1?
• Yeah it does time out after about 10mins. with no music playing through it. I don't know if you can change it to make it 5 or 10mins. Also I recommend getting a aux cord aswell.
• By time out I'm assuming you mean the amount of time with no input before it goes into a sleep mode. I'm not sure of the exact time, but it is only a few minutes. This is not configurable.

QUESTION: DOES THIS SOUND BETTER AND LOUDER THAN THE SMALLER VERSION
• Yes, it does. It is very good--much better than you would expect from a speaker its size.
• Same clarity just louder

QUESTION: HOW CAN I TELL THE BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED? I KEEP SEEING A BLINKING RED LIGHT.
• Fully charged when it stops blinking and stays red.
• The instructions say that the light blinks red if the battery is low. While it's charging and the speaker is on, it blinks blue and red alternately. When fully charged and connected to a Bluetooth device, the light is purple. If the speaker is off, the light blinks red while charging and stops blinking when fully charged.

QUESTION: CAN YOU CONNECT THIS DEVICE TO MULTIPLE BLUETOOTH DEVICES AT THE SAME TIME?
• No, I don't believe so. You can pair with multiple, but only stream from one at a time.
• No

QUESTION: I HAVE AN ANDROID PHONE. WILL THIS SPEAKER CONNECT? THE DESCRIPTION ONLY LISTS APPLE PRODUCTS.
• Yes, I can confirm it works with Android devices.
• Yes, I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and it connects via bluetooth perfectly. I've also connected to it with other bluetooth devices just fine, and also using a physical wire. It's an excellent speaker for small rooms and since its portable it works great at picnics.
• It works with Android and windows as well.

QUESTION: CAN WE CHARGE THIS WITH USB?
• no
• No. There are no ports for USB charging.
• The speaker does not charge by USB cable. It comes with its own charging cord adapter.

QUESTION: THE DESCRIPTION SAYS IT HAS A "FORWARD/BACK" FEATURE THAT I'D ASSUME IS NEXT/PREVIOUS TRACK CONTROL. I DON'T SEE BUTTONS FOR IT, DOES IT DO THIS?
• I noticed this too. I think when they showed that they were referring to the device you were pairing with it. Or that is the only thing i can think of...
• Honestly the + - button is for the volume control, as for forward and back, i dun recall using such function

QUESTION: CAN YOU REPLACE THE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
• No, sorry. It's completely inclosed.
• No, it is not designed to be taken apart.

QUESTION: WOULD THIS WORK FOR A SPIN CLASS IN A MEDIUM-SIZED ROOM?
• yes it works perfectly. I would recommend buying it.
• Yes, should work fine.
• Absolutely. The sound is a little tinny at high levels, but it gets pretty loud.
• Hi, i do not think so. It has good sound but the volume is not really high and if you have multiple spinners it could be a bit too noisy were the sound is drowned over or out.

QUESTION: IS THERE A WAY TO ADJUST BASS & TREBLE?
• No, there is not an adjustment for bass and treble.
• No not on the speaker.

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE AMAZON ASIN NUMBER FOR THIS PRODUCT?
• The ASIN is B00MJEYM5O

Lowest price as of today is on Amazon.com, click here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MJEYM5O/?tag=blog-amazonbasics-answers-20
