An AMAZONBASICS DSLR And Laptop Backpack Review Won't Answer These 17 Questions

I HAVE A FEW CONCERNS, IS THE AMAZONBASICS DSLR AND LAPTOP BACKPACK TOO BULKY, WILL THE AMAZONBASICS DSLR AND LAPTOP BACKPACK HOLD UP WITH TRAVEL, IS THE PADDING ANY GOOD? SHOULD I JUST SPEND THE MONEY ON A NAME BRAND?

• I have this bag, and my father owns the cannon equivalent. I have had time to play with both and I can say that amazon got it pretty good here. The padding on the amazon bag is actually nice despite all day trips wearing the bag. I have several back and neck injuries and I experience no more discomfort using this than the comparable and more expensive canon bag. As far as bulk, the backpack is just about right for carrying two camera bodies and assorted lenses, batteries and accessories. Again, no more bulky than any other bag I checked. If this is the size bag you are looking for, I would say grab it. There's really nothing to lose, and with Amazon's return policy, there's even less to lose if you find something you don't like. I have been using mine on all day hikes and excursions for about 7 months now and I am happy with it.

• I had a smaller camera bag before where everything was jammed in and not organized. This is larger, but not too bulky, and I like it better. The padding seems good and I do plan to travel with it as a carry on. So far, I like it a lot and for the price, it is nice.

• It's pretty bulky. It won't fit under an airline seat, but it is comfortable hiking for a few miles and you can fit A LOT of gear in it. Padding is decent. Unfortunately, the zipper broke after 6 months of daily use so I bought a LowePro to replace it.

• The size is more like your average school backpack and it doesn't seem bulky to me, but I am a big guy. I would recommend this backpack for trips, but not for those extended and back country trips. The padding is okay, based on what I paid for it.

• It's a nice size plenty of padding good quality. I drive truck and I take it everywhere very happy

IS THE AMAZONBASICS DSLR AND LAPTOP BACKPACK A MINI DSLR CAM BACKPACK? LOOKING FOR SMALL ONE.THANKS

• If you are looking for a mini backpack this is probably not for you. Just to give you an idea, this is a full size backpack that can also hold a laptop. It measures 13.2 x 9 x 18 inches and weighs about 4 pounds empty, it may be too big for your needs. Hope this helped, good luck.

• No, this is designed for full size slr type cameras. my son is using his for his slr with both small lenses and his large telephoto lens, and there is room for his wife's small point & shoot. it is a great bag. can also carry your laptop or i-pad in a seperate pouch.

• Though the images make it appear compact, this is a big bag. It has a laptop compartment and a front section full of pockets in addition to the spacious camera section. Check the dimensions to see if this is what you have in mind.

• Nope............it's rather the size of laptop backpack.........where you can accommodate your DSLR....but not big enough for you to carry bigger lenses............But it's good one for the price you pay.

• I Would Class This As Full size. There Are Additional Straps For Chest And Waist For Added Weight Distribution And Stability. Great Pack FR The Money.

• Not specifically for mini DSLR, since it is more suited for a DSLR, but you could use it for a mini. Probably best to get a smaller carry.

• It's the size of a run of the mill school backpack. It has room for your camera up to five lenses depending on size. Plus a laptop

• No, I wouldn't call it "mini." It's a regular sized backpack.

HOW DOES THE AMAZONBASICS DSLR AND LAPTOP BACKPACK COMPARE IN SIZE TO THE 29.99 AMAZONBASICS BAG? HOW DOES THE AMAZONBASICS DSLR AND LAPTOP BACKPACK COMPARE IN ALL-DAY WEARING? PARTICULARLY AT EVENTS.

• The bag is noticeably larger and heavier - even empty. It's good because it can carry more, but it's more tiring to wear for long periods. Ironically, while it has more capacity it has less options for little things - one large internal pouch becomes the catch-all and I miss having two pouches as with the smaller bag. Also, the laptop pocket holds only that - you need to find a way to accommodate the power cables, tablet and other items you may need to carry. Overall I'm happy, especially given the price of other, similar, backpacks.

• I am very happy with my camera bag. plenty of room for my gear , im packing 3 cameras, a few lenses, a laptop and or tablet, along with a good bunch of assorted stuff, and a tripod strapped to the side with the provided straps, no problem. its comfortable enough to wear for extended periods, and not so cumbersome that i cant get to some pretty precarious places. i would say its a goood deal.

• I would avoid this bag for all day wearing, because just running back and forth in an airport, I had the laptop compartment unzip by itself. This is because of how poorly designed the bag is due to having all of the weight forward of the zipper, causing it to open on its own.

• The 29.99 one has no computer compartment I don't have it on when I'm shooting an event but it does hold all my equipment with plenty of room

I HAVE A 250-500MM + 55-250MM + 18-55MM LENS AN EXTERNAL FLASH, WILL IT ALL FIT IN THE AMAZONBASICS DSLR AND LAPTOP BACKPACK?

• I don't the dimensions of those particular lenses. Given their focal lengths, it seems they would be long. With one of the longer lenses attached to the camera, I don't think you would have a problem. I was surprised by how much I can fit in this bag. I really like it.

• Yes all those things will fit in the bag, And another lens plus a laptop. And all your filters and chargers and battery. Its a really good size camera bag and really tough. buy it if you haven't already

• I have a NX300, an 18-55mm lens, an external samsung flash,a couple smaller lenses, batteries, charger, and room to spare. this is actually a daypack sized bag so it's not really a small camera case.

• Yup. I managed to fit 2 bodies, 3 zooms, a prime, an external flash, and R-Strap double in the camera area alone. I then added a laptop in back.

• I have two cameras D3100 & D7000 and 18-108, 70-300, 55-200, 50mm and two external flashes and they all fit if u want i can send u a photo.

• It should... Plus a laptop

• Yes with room to spare

WILL MY 15INCH MAC BOOK PRO RETINA WORK?

• If you are asking if this will work as a computer carrying case. Yes. I bought this for my father with that intention in mind. He dropped his laptop in the apple store in his computer bag one time. This has very thick padding for clumsies like that.

• Yes. This is a big backpack! I throw my 15 inch laptop in it easily, alone with three lenses, two cameras, and more! ..and still have space! Love it. Don't know what i'd do without it now.

• It should fit just fine. im very pleased with my camera bag, i can fit and carry all of my equipment convinently and comftorbly

• Yes it will fit. That is what me have and there are no issues. Warning. It will get heavy on longer walk's. We love the bag.

• Yes, it will. My laptop is 15.6 inch and fits perfectly!

• Yes

• Yes

I PURCHASED THE SMALLER THE AMAZON BASIC BACKPACK AND CAN BARELY WEAR IT BECAUSE IT IS SMALL (I AM 6' 235#) IS THE AMAZONBASICS DSLR AND LAPTOP BACKPACK A DECENT SIZED PACK THAT WILL FIT ME?

• Yes, it should fit you fine... waist belt and shoulder straps are adjustable. I'm 5'9 180 and plenty of room left in bag.

• I am 6'5" and it fits me fine. The only strap I have a problem with is the chest strap. Otherwise the bag is great.

• I'm 5'10 and 150# so you would probably wanna go a little bigger. I haven tried adjusting the straps or anything though

• I am pretty much the same size and the pack fits just fine for me. Shouldn't be a problem.

• I'm roughly the same size as you and it fits me nicely with plenty of room to grow.

DOES THE AMAZONBASICS DSLR AND LAPTOP BACKPACK HAVE SIDE ACCESS TO THE CAMERA (FOR PULLING A CAMERA OUT WHILE WALKING)?

• No. . .you have to take the pack off; or, have someone else remove the camera for you. . .However, I carry a "holster case" on a belt around my waist [Cost: a holster is about $10-$15; and, nylon "web" tool belt from Lowe's is about $4.95]

• There is not a side opening to the main compartment on this bag. other than that it is a great bag with plenty of storage and protection and is very comfortable to wear. it's a big bag.

• No you have to remove the pack to access the camera.

• No

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT IS THE BOTTOM OF THE AMAZONBASICS DSLR AND LAPTOP BACKPACK MADE FROM? I TEND TO PUT ON THE GROUND A LOT SO I NEED A HARD ROCK BOTTOM THAT I CAN TRUST. THANKS.

• It is the same material as the rest of the surface you see in the photos. The black neoprene type of material. It is not a hard rubber or anything special. I think it would last a while, but I would not take it on many hikes, and toss it on rocks without expecting it to start take damage points over time.

• It's a cloth bottom. It seems firm, but it's definitely cloth like the rest of the bag.

HOW WIDE IS THE LAPTOP PART? MY LAPTOP HAS AN EXTRA COUPLE INCHES ON THE END SO ITS ABOUT 16 INCHES HIGH WHEN STANDING IN THE BACKPACK AND 11 IN WIDE

• The laptop section can hold a 16.5 to 17 inch wide computer standing on end (the long way) and easily fits an 11 inch computer wide. I easily fit my MacBook Pro computer with room to spare.

• I measured it and its almost 12 inches wide and 17 inches long so it will fit. It might be a tight fit tho not sure.

WAS THE AMAZONBASICS DSLR AND LAPTOP BACKPACK SUPPOSE TO COME WITH THE REMOVABLE INSERTS?

• The middle section has multiple Velcro pieces that allow you to configure for a variety of camera/lens combinations. If you are asking if the entire section is removable as one piece the answer is no. But one or more individual Velcro pieces are removable.

• Yes. The horizontal dividers attach with velcro to the vertical dividers and are adjustable.

• Yes, of course and are adjustable.

• Yea mine did

• Yes

CAN THIS BACKPACK HOLD A BIG 17 IN LAPTOP LIKE AN ASUS GAMING LAPTOP

• I don't think it will hold a laptop that big. There is neither enough width or height in the pouch. It does hold an iPad and it's charger quite nicely.

• Yes and I love it for all it holds. Plus it comes with a bag as well that while I have not used is for a laptop

• It will because I carry one in it sometime.

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME THE DIMENSIONS OF THE INSIDE OF THE PADDED CAMERA COMPARTMENT, FROM BOTTOM TO TOP? WILL IT FIT A DEVICE THAT IS ABOUT 16" TALL?

• Yes. Bottom to top is 15.25". Top is semi-circular. Width is 13" at widest point.

• The case is 15 inches tall. It is soft and could be moved to 16 inches.

• Yes

IS THERE ROOM IN THERE FOR A 5-IN-1 COLLAPSIBLE REFLECTOR?

• If you are referring to the Neewer kit, I checked and it won't fit. Not even close.

• No, there isn't. However, you could easily attach it to the exterior of the bag.

• If your reflectors are the size of a laptop then it would seem to work.

WHAT ARE THE MEASUREMENTS INCLUDING THE STRAPS ? CAN THE STRAPS BE REMOVED TO COMPLY WITH AIRLINE CARRYON RULES ?

• The straps are sowed on. Not sure if there is any backpacks out there with removable straps?? Shouldn't be a problem as a carry on

• The backpack definitely complies with airline rules. I've never had a problem

ARE THE CHEST AND WAIST STRAPS DETACHABLE?

• Nope. They are not removable. Hope this helps!

• No, they are sewn on.

• No they are not

• No

IS THE AMAZONBASICS DSLR AND LAPTOP BACKPACK A WATERPROOF BAG?

• The bag comes with an auxiliary cover that adds to its water resistance.

• Not waterproof. but water resistant

• No.

  1. I think camera bags like this are good for starting and amateur photography enthusiasts/photographers. Just like me. As it can carry a dlsr camera and a few lenses, which is what most beginner would be having. Plus, it has a decent looks/design.
