QUESTION: DOES THE KEYBOARD SYNC OUT OF THE BOX? WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO MAKE IT WORK?
• As soon as you remove it, and install 2 AAA batteries, you turn it to the "on" position. Then simply press and hold the connect button, and search your devices Bluetooth connectivity. It will see the keybiad and then sync. It literally took me less than one minute to use it. I have also used this keyboard for my phone, and ps3.
• Yes, it does. Make sure your Kindle Fire HD (or other android device) has bluetooth turned on. Put batteries in the keyboard, turn it on, and hit the Connect button on keyboard. If the AmazonBasics Keyboard doesn't pop up on your screen, tap Search for Devices. The Kindle should then find it - it will be called AmazonBasics Bluetooth Keyboard, not something generic like "bluetooth keyboard". The popup window will give you a PIN, which you will type on the keyboard, followed by ENTER key. Pairing will then complete. You can tell it's working by immediately hitting the Home key on the keyboard, which will take you to the Home screen...
• It works like all BT devices. Turn on the keyboard. On the device you want to use the keyboard with, start blue tooth and have it scanning for BT devices. At the same time, hold down the "connect" button on the Keyboard. Your other device will connect to the keyboard. Oh, you need to put batteries in the keyboard for it to work. Instructions are included with the KB that are easy to follow. KB is a great addition to a phone, tablet or any other devices that a larger KB will help. I use mine when I need to actually type a longer document out. My fingers are too big and klutsy to do any long term typing w/o the KB.
• Not exactly. Follow the instructions out of the box. With your Kindle already "on" swipe from the top of your Kindle, tap "more" then "wireless devices." When the screen comes up tap "Bluetooth" (you'll be able to see the activity as you install the keyboard). There are 2 buttons on the underside of the keyboard. Turn on the "on/off" button, hold down any key on the face of the keyboard, keep it down and then hit the "connect button" located right next to the "on/off button (this helps to find a connection). Be patient and you will see the keyboard pairing, connecting and then saying connected. Check the blue light at the top right on the front side of the keyboard by the Wi-Fi icon. If it's on or blinking you should be good to go. Your on-screen keyboard disappears and you will be able to the Bluetooth keyboard. When you finish using the keyboard turn it off. Then next time you use the keyboard, just turn it on, swipe the kindle screen, go to "more", then "wireless devices", then "Bluetooth" and hit connect button on the back of the keyboard and the device and wireless will automatically synch (you will see it messaging progress in the same manner as the initial set-up). YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HOLD ANY KEYS DOWN ON THE FRONT OF THE BOARD TO MAKE A CONNECTION ONCE YOU DO THE INITIAL SET-UP. Good Luck!
• Insert AAA batteries, turn the keyboard on, turn on Bluetooth for your device (KF HD) under "wireless." Hit "sync" on your device and that should do it!
QUESTION: WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS OF THE KEYBOARD?
• It is 10-1/4 inches x 4-1/2 inches. It has a slight angle, so it is 1/2 inch tall at the back and just over 1/4 inch tall at the front (near the space bar.) I love mine. Easy connection, long battery life, good key click feel (to me, at least), and very light in weight.
• 10.5 x 4.5 - not as wide as my Kindle & about 3 inches longer than my Kindle. So not too big making it very portable but keys big enough for a typist like me.
• I do not own this; I gave it as a gift. Sorry, I do not know the dimensions.
QUESTION: IS IT DETACHABLE
• The keyboard does not attach to the Kindle by a USB port, because it operates wirelessly. If you are referring to the stand for the keyboard, yes, it is a separate tool. I don't use it as I have a cover for my Kindle that serves as a stand for it. I hope this answer suffices. I just didn't know if you were asking if the keyboard is detachable, or if the stand is detachable.
• Yes, it is an independent keyboard. I've used it 4 ft from my tablet.
• If you're asking about the keyboard, there's nothing to detach, since it connects wirelessly using Bluetooth technology on the Kindle Fire. I remember having to turn on or activate Bluetooth on my Fire before it would connect. The stand is just a small triangular plastic piece which the Kindle Fire fits into--not very fancy, but it works. You might want to go back to the product page at AmazonBasics Bluetooth Keyboard for Android Devices - Black and look at the small images below the larger one; that will give you a better idea of what it looks like set up.
• Detachable from what? It's a free standing keyboard that connects via bluetooth. If you're asking about the stand for the kindle, yes it detaches.
• It's a stand alone battery operated keyboard. It only connects to your Kindle, tablet, or smartphone via Bluetooth wireless. Once paired with any of these, all you do is cradle your device in the holder, if desired, and turn the keyboard on.
• This is a Bluetooth keyboard and does not attach itself to a device. It's a completely separate device, similar to a normal external keyboard, allowing it to be used with multiple devices, such as tablets, smartphones and computers that have the Bluetooth capability.
• Yes, it is bluetooth and completely wireless. You can carry it around and use it if you wanted. I've not tried to see how far away I can get before it loses contact, but I've no reason to. If I can't see the screen I don't need to be that far away. I really like it.
• The keyboard is wireless, and very easy to set up. So it doesn't attach to anything. They keyboard itself does not detach. I keep my keyboard in the box that it came in so that I don't break any of the keys. I hope that this answers your question.
• It came all in a cardboard box..I keep it in plastic box
QUESTION: HOW MUCH DOES IT WEIGH?
• Very light. Just a few ounces.
• I don't know the precise weight. It's light enough to carry with my Kindle Fire XD in a messenger bag and not feel the difference from when it isn't there. I've been very impressed with it.
• The product specs online say 9.6 ounces. As someone who owns one (and is very satisfied with it and cognizant of its limitations - see my review) I can tell you it is quite light. So light, you'll probably want to buy or make some kind of sheath for it if you throw it in a backpack or whatnot.
QUESTION: DO I HAVE TO REGERSTER MY AMAZONBASICS BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD WITH MINI TRAVEL STAND FOR KINDLE FIRE HD 8.9
• I have the fire hd 7" and I don`t recall having to register mine. Put the batteries in, slide button over to turn to on, go to wireless settings on kindle to turn on bluetooth settings. By the On button is a button you press to start the connection. You may have to touch the screen on the kindle a couple of times to get bluetooth connection. Mine pretty much connects first time when I go to use it now. I don't use my keyboard everyday so I turn bluetooth on first on kindle then turn keyboard on, hit the connect button on keyboard and I am good to go each time I do use the keyboard. Good Luck!
• There is no registration with Amazon, but it will have to be paired with the tablet in the normal bluetooth manner. BTW, I'm typing this response on the keyboard (paired to my android phone). :-)
• I've had my keyboard for several months, and there was nothing to indicate I had to register it. All I did was follow the instructions pertaining how to get it to work with the Kindle. I'm 73 years old, and will never understand computer technology, yet, I was able to do this process myself. So that shows you how easy it is to do.
• If you mean Register = Pair, then yes. It's easily done through the Bluetooth connection settings. Once paired leave your Bluetooth on, and when you switch the keyboard on, give it a few moments and press any key (think space bar) to reconnect.
• Once you pop the batteries into the keyboard, you will need to turn it on and press the little round button on the back. That will letit begin broadcasting its signal. Then, go to the wireless settings on your kindle fire hd and turn on the bluetooth setting. It will start looking for devices that are broadcasting. You might need to press the little round button on the bottom of the keyboard again. It will appear on your screen and you will need to press it to connect. This may be something you need to do from time to time, but that is how you register the keyboard to the device. IT will remember the keyboard, but you will need to press the little round button each time you want to use the keyboard.
• I did not register the one I have for my Kindle Fire HD 8.9". I just had to pair it and it works great!
QUESTION: WHERE TO DOWNLOAD MANUAL PDF?
• I don't believe there is one. You just have to press the connection button on the back when it's on and then use your tablet/CPU to find the keyboard
• There was a small multi laguage manual that came with the KB but as I recall, it only had maybe 1 or 2 pages of *very* basic info. Nothing I would have kept.
• Google is our friend. The manual, if you need it, for the Logitech K400 keyboard is on this page: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support/wireless-touch-keyboard-k400?osid=14&bit=64
QUESTION: DOES THIS PRODUCT WORK WELL WITH THE OTTER BOX PROTECTIVE COVER. I HAVE A KINDLE FIRE HDX 8.9 AND WANT TO MAKE SURE IT WORKS WELL BEFORE I PURCHASE IT.
• I would think it would work. I have an infinite leathur case. Have used it with our Android phones as well. It is the easiest electronic gadget I have ever ser up.
• I have a Kindle Fire HD with a standing leather case and a tech armor screen protector. I don't have any problem with the blue tooth. Your otterbox would be a heavier case but I would imagine it would work just as well.
• I'm not sure. I have the HDX 8.9 but I have not paired it yet. My biggest complaint with this keyboard is it has no cover to protect it when you carry it. it's rather big in size put nothing to protect the keys during transport unless you left it in the box it came in. this keyboard does not connect to the kindle it just sets on a hard surface. I wish they made one that snaps on like the Ipad or the Surface does. If you wanted a slim one you would have to buy a case with keyboard but I don't think they have one yet for the HDX 8.9. The Otter Box does not interfere with the keyboard since it does not snap on or connects to the Kindle just a stand alone. Good Luck. It is a nice keyboard for a stand alone
• Well, I have used this keyboard with an Otter Box on my iPod4th gen, and it works well. I did not know there was an Otter Box product for the Kindle Fire HD. I expect that it will work just fine. Amazon includes a useful hard, rubber folded support stand to hold the Kindle Fire HD device at the proper angle for typing, reading, etc. It's use may be precluded by the added thickness of the case. switching it on, batteries, syncing the device, etc. Maybe I should share that. I recommend using fresh DuraCell WAS batteries. To enable pairing of the keyboard to your KINDLE switch on and off the Bluetooth option inside the Wireless menu. This must be repeated if the Kindle loses its paired status with the keyboard which can happen with old batteries, etc. If the KINDLE does not respond check pairing in the Wireless menu and press the button on the bottom of the keyboard next to the ON, off switch.
• I am sorry I cannot help you with the Otter Box cover. I can, however, say with certainty that I LOVE the Bluetooth Keyboard!! Good Luck to you.
QUESTION: DOES IT WORK WITH IPHONE 5?
• It says it works with smart phones running android 3.0+
• This is the android version so I don't know, I think they have an iPhone version if you search for it. Works great with all my android devices FWIW
• Don't know, don't have an iPhone. Works with my Android tablet.
• Sorry, I don't know. I don't have one of those.
• I don't have an iPhone 5. I don't even have an Android. I only use my keyboard on my Kindle Fire HD so I have no idea. I have future plans of getting a smartphone.
QUESTION: IS THERE A USER MANUAL? EXAMPLE: WHAT FUNCTION IS THERE WITH THE CTRL AND ALT / OPTION KEYS? ADJUSTING SOUND DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE FUNCTIONAL ON THE HD FIRE 9"; TRUE?
• There is a very limited user manual that comes with the keyboard but I am sure you could find more information on-line.
• I returned my Kindlle because the directions were not user friendly and I found it was too limited on where I could get good games. I like Zylom games best so went back to my laptop. Sorry I couldn't help, but I had to just give it up.
• It comes with very little instruction and I couldn't find an on line manual. With my Transformer the volume on keyboard opens volume control but then I have to use touch to control--just as easy to just use volume on tablet. Haven't tried control alt as on my computer that mostly controls Windows functions and I don't have Windows on my tablet.
• tgere is no user manual, but ther is a small pamphlet that has easy instructions for set up. as for the other question i have not tried everythnf on the keyboard.
• I'm able to adjust the volume on my Kindle Fire HD 8.9 with the keyboard with no problems. I use the Ctrl and Alt/Option keys when I use the keyboard with a laptop. I also use them when I use the Kindle Fire to do Remote Desktop Connections. They pass through to the target computer with no problem. I don't know if they have any function when used with the Kindle Fire. Hope this helps.
QUESTION: WHAT ARE THE EXACT DIMENSIONS OF THIS KEYBOARD? I HAVE A VERY SMALL CARRY CASE FOR MY TABLET AND LOOKING FOR A PERFECT SIZED KEYBOARD.
• 10-5/16"L 4-5/8"W 1/2"H across the top of the keyboard, sloping to 1/4" at the bottom edge of the keyboard The
• 10-5/16"L 4-5/8"W 1/2"H across the top of the keyboard, sloping to 1/4" at the bottom edge of the keyboard The
• Keyboard is 10 1/2" L x 4 1/2" W. Hope this helps.
• 10.4" (L) x 4.6" (W) x 0.7" (D)
QUESTION: CAN I USE THIS DEVICE FOR TEXTING ON MY ANDROID?
• Yes, anything that accepts Bluetooth keyboards. IOS, andriod, windows mobile, Windows 7,8,8.1,10, Mac OSX, Linux, even some smart TVS. One reccomendation I have is to use it really close to the device. It will connect 20 feet away and act fine but it will be sporadic anything more then 5 feet.. If looking to use the this with a device more then 10 feet away like on the TV, I suggest going with Logitech's Bluetooth accessories. As with an andriod tablet or phone is its going to propped next to it won't be any issue as long as your phone has atleast Bluetooth 2.1 or later. Battery life is fairly solid I forgot to shut mine off and tossed it in my bags on trips and it usually working for a full week or so, I suggest using the black label Amazon rechargeable AAA batteries basically rebranded cheaper Eneloops so got a high energy density and can be recharged a lot more time
• yes this can be used to type in texting apps
• I'm not sure about using it with your phone (I assume that is what you meant by Android). It works PERFECT with the Kindle and gives you a "horizontal" keyboard to use when typing on programs loaded on your Kindle. I've never tried it with a SmartPhone.
QUESTION: HOW IS THE AVERAGE BATTERY LIFE FOR THIS KEYBOARD?
• I'm a light user. I'm still on the original batteries!
• Haven't used it enough to go through a battery change yet so sorry, I don't know. Uses 2 AAA batteries.
• Battery life has been very good so far
• Honestly after I got used to using my kindle, I found it easier to use the built-in keyboard. It was too much trouble to use the Bluetooth keyboard. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!:)
• Don.t know, still on my first set of batteries. Enjoy,
QUESTION: DOES THE BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD WORK WITH THE NEW KINDLE HDX
• it should, it connects to pretty much any other blue tooth item i have tried.
• I would assume it would. Kindle in general has Bluetooth, and therefore any Bluetooth attachment should be compatible.
• I do not have an HDX. I have a Kindle Fire Hd. My keyboard is synched to my KFire HD and my smartphone. After reading the specs on the new HDX I would think that the keyboard would be compatible with it, just as it is with the HD. The two platforms appear to be similar, with the HDX having a few more bells and whistles. I suggest contacting Kindle support and ask them directly. The worst thing that can happen is that your purchasing the keyboard and finding it doesn't work or is giving you problems; you can contact Kindle support and/or simply return it to Amazon for a refund.
• It works with any bluetooth enabled device, even an I Pad.
• It works great on my Kindle Fire HD so I don't know why it won't work on the KDX because it is the same technology.
• I'm sorry but I do not know the answer to this question. It works great with the Kindle HD Fire but I do not know anything about the Kindle HDX...is it even out yet?
• How do you sync it to work or set it up?
QUESTION: WHAT ARE THE SIZE MEASUREMENTS
• It's about 10 1/4" X 4 1/2" X 1/2"
• The keyboard is 10.5 inches long and 7.5 inches wide. Works great and is WiFi.
• The size of the keyboard is approximately 10.5" x 4.5", which fits perfectly in front of my 7" Kindle HDX. I've often sat both the kindle and keyboard on my lap and typed with ease.
• 10 1/4" long; 4 1/2 " wide and the upper edge has 1/4" lift.
• 10.5 inches by 4.5 inches. Still works great!
QUESTION: DOES THIS WORK WITH THE ORIGINAL KINDLE FIRE?
• Hi Jen. I have to be honest I really don't know. Now, that being said I would hazard it probably does. If the original Kindle has blue tooth accessibility I would roll the dice and give it a shot. Installation is ridiculously easy and you'll be up and going in a matter of moments. Best of luck!
• it is working great with mine, i've had it on it's first set of batteries for 3 days using it mostly as a remote control for turning pages and i am using it now. if you buy it and dont like it i will buy it from you! Joe
• I can only assume it would but I don't know. Mine is the kindle fire hd that was released in 2012 before Christmas. As long as the fire has bluetooth I think it should work. I've connected the keyboard to my iPhone 4, 4s, 5, and iPad 4th gen without any problem. Hope the helps.
• I don't really know. I have a Kindle Fire HDX. I would think that if your Kindle is capable of a Bluetooth connection the keyboard should work.
• It works if it is a Kindle Fire HD or HDX I don't know if the original Kindle is either, you will have to check your device.
• Yes, it works great!
QUESTION: WHAT SIZE IS THE KEYBOARD?
• 4.5" x 10.5"
• The keyboard is 10.5" x 4.5"
• From the Amazon' web listing for the item. 10.4 x 4.6 x 0.7 inches ; 9.6 ounces . Why the inquiry?
• 9'X4' roughly I's not a full scale keyboard but for something to use with a tablet this works greatit's also slim hope this help
• The keyboard is quite thin, but it is a little smaller than a normal keyboard in terms of left to right. It lacks a number pad, but it still works quite well.
QUESTION: IS THIS CONSIDERED TO BE A "FULL-SIZE" KEYBOARD?
• Keyboard that I purchased from Amazon and use with Kindle fire HD is 10" long and 4" wide and has all the attributes as a full keyboard. This keyboard is over 2 year-old and works just fine. Hope this helps.
• Yes it is. It's very light. I type on my lap but on a desk would be better. It's a surprisingly good keyboard. I use it on my Kindle Fire and even my iPhone at times. It's small enough that I can fit my knapsack and bring it to Starbucks or the library. It doesn't make any clicking sound so it fits in well to a quiet environment like a library.
• NO
• This keyboard is about 10 to 10.5" long where a 'full sized' keyboard is about 17" long. That said, it is very easy to use and this fat fingered old fat guy has no problems using it. I recommend it.
• No, it is not full sized, but it is large enough that even with large hands I can type on it easily without errors. I really like the keyboard.
• No it's not, but I have never had a problem typing on it. Actually I'm a lot faster on it.
• No!
• Yes, like that on a small laptop.
QUESTION: I HAVE A NEXUS 7 TABLET AND CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO PAIR THE KEYBOARD---THERE'S NO PIN CODE DISPLAYED.
• It's a linking process. Go Bluetooth settings on tablet, have the keyboard turned on. Once tablet senses the keyboard, press the connect button on back of keyboard. Wait for them to sync. That's how I connected it to the Fire. Good luck!
• Most Bluetooth devices work fine with the pin code of 0000
• Try pairing with all zero's or 1234. That the code I used when pairing mine.
QUESTION: WHEN PAIRED WITH THE KINDLE FIRE HDX CAN THE KINDLE ON SCREEN KEYBOARD BE USED WHEN AWAY THE KEYBOARD OR DOES IT BECOME "KEYBOARD ONLY"?
• With my Galaxy Note 10.1, the onscreen keyboard functionality is not affected. Sometimes it is a bit of a pain to have to tap on the screen to minimize the onscreen keyboard because you're using the bluetooth keyboard and want to see the entire screen, but that's a minor annoyance.
• It's keyboard only, although you can still touch screen to re-position cursor. But drag the top down, go to wireless, Bluetooth, and turn it off in seconds. I love it and use for word processing.
• I do not have a KF HDX, but for my Fire HD, Both the keyboard and on screen work, one does not cancel out the other. You can have both on at the same time and either/or will work.
• The on-screen Keyboard is active whenever the bluetooth keyboard is not 'enabled'. I haven't tried to enable the on-screen keyboard when the separate bluetooth keyboard is active, though I believe it should be possible. On the other hand, why both at the same time?
QUESTION: WILL THIS PAIR UP WITH THE SAMSUNG TABLET 10.1 (2014 EDITION)?
• Assuming your tablet is Bluetooth enabled (I'm pretty sure it is) it will pair up. I use it on my Samsung Galaxy S4 and my wife's Kindle.
• I really do not know. I just know how well it works with my Kindle HDX 8.9, which which has bluetooth capabilities.
• I don't know. I synced it with kindle hd fire, then didn't use for a month and it hasn't worked since and the return period had expired. I hate the thing.
QUESTION: WILL THIS WORK ON THE OLD KF 7" NOT HD
• The question you have to answer is, does your KF7 have Bluetooth capabilities? I looked at the current KF 7" and I didn't see where it said it included Bluetooth, so my best guess is no.
• It won't work without bluetooth. You are right. And I never saw a keyboard for the old one either. Suggest if you have one or want to get one, also get a stylus and use it in landscape mode. That's what I do when I have a short search term I need to use, rather than get out the keyboard. Price of a stylus has come down greatly with all the new tablets out there. Old KF7 can't hold a candle to the new KF7, btw. It is vastly improved. I sold my old one for $100 and had half the price of the KF7 HD in hand to purchase it with. A stylus looks like your best bet for the old one, or even the newer non-bluetooth version of it. Good luck!
• I don't believe that the original Kindle 7 had Bluetooth. Most new tablets and phones come with Bluetooth. I don't believe you can connect any keyboard to the original Kindle fire.
QUESTION: MY LED LIGHT.DOES NOT COME ON. REPLACED BATTERIES. DEVICE IS.NOT RECOGNIZED BY WIRELESS SCREEN ON KINDLE FIRE HD. IS IT DEFECTIVE?
• The light comes on only when it is searching for a device to connect to. Press the space bar and it should find the kindle. Make sure the switch on the back is on. Hard to say if it is defective with out having the keyboard and kindle here.
• the other answer about tapping the space bar might help- sorry that I don't have any other suggestions
QUESTION: DOES THIS WORK WITH NOOK HD?
• I am not sure It is Bluetooth. If Nook supports Bluetooth, it may work ([pair)
• Dear Sharby D. , This is a question you should ask Amazon. I'm very sorry I can't help you. I am new to the whole tablet experience. My very first tablet was the Kindle Fire 8.9 HD. I can only tell you that if it does work with the nook, it's a great keyboard. Light, easy to type on, setup was a breeze. Sincerely, Red
• Dear Sharby D. , I have found out that the NOOK Color, Does support Bluetooth. Here is a youtube link on how this is done.www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoRCAmluGcw Sincerely, Red
• I wish I had the knowledge to give you the proper answer but am sorry to say- I don't not know- so sorry.
• I am sure you can always return it, but if your nook has a keyboard function, and is bluetooth compatible. it should work! the set up is really simple. just go into the bluetooth option, the search for devices. there is a code you enter and all set
QUESTION: DOES IT WORK FOR JUST THE KINDLE FIRE??
• I don't believe so. It is a Bluetooth keyboard and should work with any Windows Android tablet at the very least. The stand will hold the 8.9 Kindle as well as my 7 " model, I'm sure. Best of luck to you, enjoy,
• no, I dont have a kindle I am using it for my Samsung Galaxy Tablet and it works perfect with Wi Fi
• I have a samsung galaxy tablet and it works with that. I had called samsung and they told me howbto connect it
QUESTION: REVIEWS ARE GREAT, BUT WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A CASE TO CARRY IT AROUND IN ?
• That hasn't been a problem for my daughter in her college classes. There's always something to put it in. It fit I my zippered folio easily.
• Excellent question. I bought a drawstring bag intended for a 1lb bag of coffee at Peets. Lack of a good case is a problem for this item, but it is sturdy and well-made, not flimsy, so you don't need a special case that is shaped and padded just so. Any bag or pouch that will cover it to keep dust and dirty out of the keys during transport should do.
• I have a padded shoulder bag that allows me to take my Kindle, keyboard and battery backup/charger. I have a cover on my kindle and it all fits in my bag. The cover allows me to set it up on a table or whatever and hook up what I need. The speaker I have will not fit, haven't tried. I use that at home when I listen to my audio books. Hope it helps.
QUESTION: WILL THIS KEYBOARD WORK WITH FIRST GENERATION KINDLE FIRE (NON-HD)?
• I'm not familiar with the first generation Kindle Fire. If your Kindle has bluetooth capabilities, then it should. If it doesn't have bluetooth, then it won't.
• Sorry but I haven't tried it. If it is Bluetooth, it should, I would think, once they connect.
• I'm not sure which generation I have, but it's HD.
• Yes, I have the original Kindle Fire, and it pairs nicely with its bluetooth.
QUESTION: I HAVE A KINDLE FIRE HD 7 INCH & LOVE IT. I KNOW THIS IS STUPID BUT I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING BLUETOOTH AND DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WILL THIS KEYBOARD WORK WITH JUST THE KINDLE?
• I believe that this was made for the kindle. It should work fine for u.
• I can't see why not. It's bluetooth, which the kindle supports, and designed for android, which the kindle is based on.
• I don't know if you read my review, but, I wasn't happy with this keyboard. Others had a different experience. I couldn't connect for a while then when I did, the keys stuck and began to repeat or they would not function at all. The operation was very intermittent for me and I returned the product.
• I believe it is made for the Kindle, however I tried it both with my iPhone and my husband's iPad. Works like a champ! I'm not sure to what other devices it may sync but it may be compatible with other bluetooths.
QUESTION: WHERE IS THE TILDE AND GRAVE CHARACTERS ON THE AMAZONBASICS KINDLE BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD
• No tilde...not sure what a "grave" character is...also, no DEL key...which is interesting...have to use backspace to delete things...you get used to it.
• Alt/Option + e then press a, e, i , o or u for tilde(´) Alt/Option + i then press a, e, i , o or u for circumflex (^) Alt/Option + u then press a, e, i , o or u for diaeresis (¨) or Alt/Option + n + n = ñ
QUESTION: HAS ANYONE FOUND IT TO WORK WITH THE ORIGINAL KINDLE FIRE? PLEASE DON'T RESPOND IF YOU DON'T KNOW. THANKS
• As far as I can determine, the first-generation Kindle Fire has no Bluetooth capability and thus cannot communicate with the Amazon Basics keyboard.
• If your original Kindle Fire is bluetooth capable, it will work with it. The keyboard is a bluetooth accessory that you simply have your kindle 'recognize'
• I have been using the Amazon keyboard for a month or two and it works very well for me. However I don't know if I am using the original Kindle Fire. I bought my Kindle Fire at a Staples store near me (about 20 miles or so) I have been using it with Amazon Basics connecting through Bluetooth. I have also have been using the Bluetooth on my Blackberry phone as well. More than that I can't tell you as I am an old geezer and don't learn easily.
QUESTION: WHAT IS THE SEIZE OF THIS KEYBOARD IN INCHES
• It's about 10.5 inches long, 4.5 inches wide, and about .5 inch thick at it's thickest point.
• 10.4x4.6x0.7inches. See product specs.
• The keyboard is about 4 1/2 inches by 10 1/2 inches. It's about 1/4 moving to 1/2 inch thick (it's angled).
• 10 3/8" x 4 1/2". Also when keyboard is laid on flat surface, it rises from 1/4" to 1/2"
• It is 10 1/2" long and 4 1/2" wide.
QUESTION: IS THIS KEYBOARD RECHARGEABLE OR DOES IT WORK ON REGULAR ALKALINE BATTERIES?
• It uses two AAA alkaline batteries
• It requires 2 AAA batteries which came with it. Has on off switch to turn it off when not in use. I haven't had to replace them yet.
• 2-AA alkaline batteries.
• Regular alkaline batteries. Not at my house right now, or I would look, but I think that it is 2 AAA batteries. Easily installed on the bottom of the keyboard (smaller than a standard keyboard, of course), but it works well!
• It uses 2 AAA batteries. I've had the same set in the unit since I purchased it in September (2012). They are easy to install and I haven't had any trouble with the cover plate.
• Runs on two AAA alkaline
• I no longer own the keyboard, so having read the other answers, I will defer to them
• It takes 2 AAA
• The keyboard uses AA batteries.
QUESTION: IS THERE A COVER TO GO WITH IT?
• No, unfortunately
• There's no cover that I know of. If you hear of o.e let me know.
• I did not receive one. It does come with a "fold up" stand.
• as far as i know there is not
• No. I kept the plastic bag that it came in and I put it back in there. I have a carry case for my Kindle Fire and I put the keyboard in there with the Kindle and that seems to help keep it stabilized.
QUESTION: HOW DO YOU TURN ON KEYBOARD?
• In the back there is a button that you turn on, and then you hit the connect button and it will connect to your device. Follow the instructions it came with, install the batteries, turn the button on, hit connect, and your device should provide you with a code, punch in the code on the keyboard and it should connects quite easily. Once you use the code to connect it, each time you want to use it, turn it on, and hit connect and it will connect within a second.
• There is a little rocker switch on the back.
• There is an ON/OFF slider on the bottom of the keyboard. The first time you use it, you'll also have to pair it with the device. There are instructions included with the keyboard. I have found that I usually have to hit a couple of keys after turning on the keyboard before it and my tablet start talking to each other.
QUESTION: DOES IT WORK WITH A GALAXY MEGA CELL PHONE?
• I don't know
• I don't know. I've only used it with my Kindle Fire HD. Sorry.
• I have no idea. I bought it at the same time as the Kindle Fire HDX because Amazon said it was compatible. It operates on Blue Tooth Technology...for the price I would give it a try or call Amazon to see if it will before purchasing.
• I don't know either. It works great with my Kindle Fire HD 8.9.
QUESTION: DOES THIS WORK WITH THE NEW FIRE 7" HDX?
• I really do not know. I don't know the difference. I have two Kindle Fire HD units, the 7" and the 8.9". I cannot imagine why it would not work with the HDX unit.
• I would think it should. I'm not an expert but I can't think of a reason why it shouldn't work. As long as fire 7" has the capability of typing with a fire keyboard within itself and it has a bluetooth switch/setting it should work. I really think it'll work. But ask maybe amazon support to make sure. Hope that helps and have fun with the keyboard. I love working with mine.
• Since that's not out yet, I can't answer that but if it has bluetooth capability, which I'm sure it does, I'm guessing yes.
• I have the Fire 7 HD. Works fine at home getting interference at work, lots of Bluetooth devices here.
QUESTION: IT DOES NOT HAVE A SYMBOL FOR PAGE-UP OR PAGE-DOWN KEYS. ARE THERE PAGE-UP AND PAGE-DOWN KEYS THAT ARE NOT SHOWN ON KEYBOARD?
• Not that I'm able to see. The manual is at home, I can look it up tonight. Just on a whim I tried Alt/Option + Up/Down, and it didn't do anything. But I'm also on an Android tablet through RDP to try that so there might be something to that.
• No, that is one of the compromises with this keyboard.
QUESTION: HOW DO YOU CHARGE KEYBOARD OR WHAT TYPE OF BATTERIES DOES IT USE?
• AAA...I use rechargables...takes 2...eneloops are nice because they recharch and hold s charge for up to a year or more just sitting...they last about 2 months in the keyboard with daily use...am currently usoling this as main keyboard at office
• It requires two AAA which come in the box and there's a compartment on the back! Very easy to use. Be sure and turn your Bluetooth on in the kindle and let them sync! Follow instructions very easy! Enjoy!
• It just takes regular batteries. The keyboard doesn't recharge.
• It uses three AAA batteries. It's totally wireless, so there is no "charging" port. You need to turn the keyboard off after use to avoid draining the batteries needlessly. (My is too new to tell how long the batteries last.)
QUESTION: TURN KINDLE FIRE ON, TURN ON KEYBOARD, BLUE LIGHT BLINKS, NO PIN NUMBER IS DISPLAYED ON SCREEN?
• Click Bluetooth on Kindle, push connect button on back of keyboard, pin (or serial #) of keyboard on back of keyboard, click on "pairing". Should detect. Make sure batteries are installed--but if you get a blue light, they should be right.
• Make sure Bluetooth is enabled in settings. Swipe down and enable bluetooth
QUESTION: OR ATTACHMENT BRACKET IS THERE A COVER
• Sorry, Carol, there is no cover or case that I know of. There are a number of suggestions for possible cases on the forum of comments on the page for the keyboard.
• No, the keyboard does not arrive with a cover. Some users have mentioned creating their own slip cover.
• No, there is no cover, but I bought this with mine and it fits perfectly: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BUYIHN2/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_details_o08_s00_i02
• Carol, I returned my keyboard as it was too buky and I found the stylus to work perfectly. Also, I could not get the keyboard to connect. I love the stylus. There was no cover. Bruce F.
QUESTION: DOES THIS WORK WITH THE FIRE HD 8?
• My device is Fire HDX 8.9. Works great!
• I have the fire HD 7 inch, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. It isn't attached to the iPad, it just works through blue tooth.
• It connected immediately to my 8.9" Kindle Fire Fourth generation and worked just fine. Remembering how the word breaks down, I 'assume' it would work on any Kindle products that have the Bluetooth option.
QUESTION: DOES THIS WORK WITH THE KINDLE FIRE 7, 7"
• It does, however mine has been quirky. I will be typing away and suddenly and I'm not touching anything it'll go off typing a letter for eons, or erase what I wrote. This happens a lot. When I bought the Kindle Fire for my husband recently, I bought him the adapter to use a regular wireless keyboard, specifically Logitech and mouse, a full size keyboard and mouse and it works great. I haven't figured out yet how to configure my kindle I've had and bought this amazon keyboard to Logitech keyboard and mouse yet. With a brand new kindle at startup it recognizes the Logitech equipment immediately. I just need to figure out how to get my kindle to recognize this setup after the fact and I will.
• It works with any device that has Bluetooth.
QUESTION: WILL IT WORK ON THE KINDLE FIRE HDX 7"
• I believe this will work on any tablet that has blue tooth capabilities. I no longer take my computer on vacation since I have purchased this product.
• Yes it should. It works with my nexus 7 and it's the same OS. The difference is that the kindle runs android 4.2 and the nexus runs 4.3. That shouldn't be an issue.
• Yes it does. Works on any device with bluetooth.
QUESTION: WILL THIS WORK WITH EVERNOTE?
• Great question! I wanted to give it a try before I answered this question. I have found that the availability of the typical keyboard shortcuts depends on the specific program or app's programming. In using the keyboard with Kingsoft's office program, some keyboard manouvers do not work. However, in using it with email, I have experienced no limitations at all. I accessed my Evernote last night and found the useability to be siminlar to that of my email, I observed no limitations or issues using any of the standard key strokes or keyboard shortcuts. The keyboard still keeps my thumbs-up rating.
• It works perfectly with Evernote.
• I don't know much about evernote. It works great with my android cell. Sorry I can't be of more help. God bless you.
QUESTION: WILL BY KINDLE FIRE HD BE UPDATED WHEN I'M ONLINE TO BE ABLE TO USE THIS KEYBOARD?
• The Kindle Fire HD is my wifes and I use it not, but she has stated that she has had no problem with hers and she uses it constantly. Even while riding on motorcycle with me.
• I am not to sure what your asking. The keyboard will pair itself to the kindle via bluetooth but I am not to sure on what you mean on updates
QUESTION: DOES THIS KEYBOARD ALSO WORK WITH THE KINDLE FIRE HDX 7" TABLET?
• Yes, that is the device that I have and it generally works well.
• Yes it does. It should work with most tablets with a bluetooth module.
• do not know. if it is Bluetooth equipped which I believe it is then it should work. I use it all the time with my Kindle Fire HD 8.9 and it works well. some of the F functions do not like a regular keyboard but other than that I am pleased with the product
• don't know have not tried to connect it to the HDX. Sorry couldn't answer your question.

• Mine does not have a place to plug in a USB cord at all. It runs on 2 AAA batteries. (Batteries are included.)

• Unfortunately not. When it goes dead, your only option is two replace the two AA batteries.
• Yes, it is. You can use the same cable that you use for your Kindle.
QUESTION: IF THERE IS NO MOUSEPAD ETC HOW DOES ONE SCROLL AND CLICK PLEASE?
• Touchscreen
• you still use the touch screen to scroll and can enter with the 'enter' button or onscreen.
• .Use the Kindle's touchscreen.
• The kindle is touch screen so you can scroll that way or use the arrow keys.
• No mousepad. All you have are the directional keys on the bottom right of the keyboard. This keyboard is made for android devices, not pcs, so you have to do the scrolling and clicking yourself with your finger. After a lot of experience wth this keyboard, I would not recommend buying it. It sucks. It has numerous problems and I will be updating my review accordingly.
• that is the primary failing of many bluetooth keyboards. you must have a touch screen or a usb port to mount a mouse.

• No. It takes 2 AAA batteries which Amazon is nice enough to include!
• It does not have any place to hook a charger, just uses AAA batteries. Honestly I only use it occasionally, but I have owned it for 6 months and haven't had to change the batteries yet. It doesn't use much power at all...

• It uses batteries.
• You have to put new batteries in.
• You don't. It runs on AAA batteries.
• You don't, it uses AAA batteries.
• Insert batteries. If you want to recharge, you can use rechargable batteries but you'd still have to use the charger for the batteries because the keyboard isn't rechargeable.

• I have only used it with my kindle hd.
• I would think since your tablet has the android operating system and if it has bluetooth, it should work. I've only used it with my Kindle Fire HD.
• It should have not problem as long as the Galaxy tab will allow the bluetooth to connect with it. There should not be a problem. You can also check the Galaxy owners manual to check if there are restrictions of Bluetooth devices.

• Hopefully you will get a response from a Chromebox user. In the mean time, the question is really: Does Chromebox have Bluetooth? If so, then that is the standard that you need to check. QUESTION: IS THERE A CASE THAT WILL FIT THIS KEYBOARD AND MY KINDLE FIRE HD 7 TOGETHER?
• I am sorry, I don't know. You may have to look around for something that wasn't designed specifically to fit them both. The keyboard is really light and thin though, so maybe something the size of a bible cover. You know the ones that zip shut and have a handle or maybe a portable DVD player case?
